Well, there is a difference between Larry and Goff.

Larry loves to brag - made up or otherwise - about all of the colleges that wanted him. Goff likes to brag about walking out of an SIU class when the professor wanted to teach the kids proper English.

What's this now?

Pay attention.

I didn't hear it. Somebody posted it. I guess Goff was offended that a professor in a broadcasting class told the students that they need to speak well or something like that. So Goff got up and left the class and went back to his "Crib". It was the dorm. But Goff still called it the crib back then.

Goff: Ain't no joke, playa.

Professor: "Ain't" isn't a word, Jason.

Goff: Fuck you, cracka!!!!

Well put. What did Jason expect from a broadcasting course? It's also kind of a slap in the face to mom and dad. That was money well spent.

Sadly, drinky attended every class at ICB and still talks like an idiot. So...

I remember Larry once bragging about being accepted to Harvard. Then saying something like "I weighed my options and chose DePaul".

I believe Larry is a pathological liar.

He also said he got into Michigan but instead chose DePaul.

See, I believe he did get in to Michigan and Illinois and did receive academic scholarship money. He's bright enough, came from a good school district and provided a desirable demographic. Just as everything with Sir, the way he tells the story doesn't really reflect the way these things occurred.

A guy like Bernstein will even concede that he couldn't get into Duke under today's standards. Sir takes it the other way.

If he had a scholarship of anykind, you know that would have been provided in great detail many many times.

Guessing a financial aid package being the kid of a teacher thing, good grades, checked the Alaskan box, etc....I know DePaul had programs for such a kid, IF they kept up their grades, got a credit for tuitions...which I am SURE of!

He reeeely reeeeely missed going to a school without a football program, but like he said,
he had Northwestern 8 miles to the North to satiate his football fix.

Yeah. That makes sense. He also had Northwestern 8 miles away when he was in high school. Oh, and after high school as well. Larry is a weird dude.
