Not banging her. Just in my circles of relationships for business. Good person IRL. Buys drinks.

Without knowing much, he's leaving someone who is certainly smarter than he is and makes a six figure salary.

Didn't she leave him? Probably saw a chance to trade up.

She got tired of him singing the Feldco jingle during sex.

going by that old 10 page thread on the topic, the good job was a recent event in her life. seems to have given her the impetus to initially move out on her own and then file for divorce.

She's "Community and Field Programs Manager" for a company that bills itself thusly:

Quote:
Lightbend provides the leading Reactive application development platform for building distributed applications and modernizing aging infrastructures. Using microservices and fast data on a message-driven runtime, your applications scale effortlessly on multi-core and cloud computing architectures.

That's a gold medal in the "meaningless tech jargon to describe web hosting" competition.

She makes six figures doing whatever it is she does? I guess a regular 6 is a 9+ in the IT world.

Uh huh.

I've seen plenty of people fall down hills. Never seen one stand up looking like they got punched in the eye with a solid left hook.

Bruh. You talked about your divorce from your hotter-and-richer-than-you ex on the radio in the #3 market in the country. Just stop.

do you think naming their kid after a sandwich had anything to do with it? yeah in fairness to speagol it's his favorite sandwich to the extent that i think he even had/has a blog about sporadic encounters with said sandwich, but still, YOU NAMED YOUR KID AFTER A FUCKING SANDWICH!!!!!! [implications abound here]

also, i don't know what's the craziest thing about that old thread from 2010 linked to in page 2: 1) that pretty much everyone who posted in it is still here 2) that when i go back to it i notice my post has my avatar/profile-info/signature from the time of my "mandate" to go take the 6 month siesta (read: banning from circa dec 2015) or 3) that i managed to make a post that only had an image as a reply.

From the days of me listening to Mac and Meat pants, he said it was named after his mother. I don't know her name, but when he said Ruben I thought the same thing. A Sammich?!?

That's a pretty bad cousin.

Hey Sarah, I know this guy from the internet who just got divorced because he spent his free time playing in a cover band and playing poker instead of being with his family. You two should get together!

 I was going to say that cousin must hate Porkchop Sarah.....Hey I have just the guy for you! He is over 3 bills, does terrible sports talk on the radio, and has already failed at marriage twice the most recent time just a few days ago. You two would be perfect together. I think he just saw she already had a food related nickname and figured Spiegs wouldn't have to stretch to name her ham sandwich or something.

He gets so drunk on family vacations, that he needs a golf cart to get him back to his hotel room.

Meatpants is well into six figures as well.

Nothing like a divorce and child support to give a guy incentive to work. I expect to see better dedication from him over the next 15+ years

Maybe the work husband helped her get the job, and explains why he may be the "real" husband soon.

Oracle, RedHat experience and the company she works for apparently somehow is in charge of curating/evangelizing Scala (an iteration of Java some dude in Switzerland came up with to try to salvage all the slow-ass Java legacy code in large corporate environments).

Yeah, six figures easily. She has project manager experience; so she can talk tech with coders/developers at Java/Scala conferences, even if she herself is not a coder. And she likes to drink. A chick at one of these tech conferences is outnumbered significantly. so it's a smart move by her employer to have her out there, talking up her company's product and getting her drink on with the developers whom their sales team will ultimately have to pitch to.

She may be but her company seems to be struggling.

Name change and "refocus" normally mean things aren't going too well.

Spiegel works in a dying industry. He will probably be out of work within the next 5 years.
