Monster (Coca Cola) has a new product out called 'Mutant Soda.' I guess they figured they weren't selling enough energy drinks, so they would market a soda/pop to get more customers.

A single 20oz bottle has as many grams of sugar as the number of Bulls regular season victories in '95-'96

What is the flavor profile of this thing? Some sort of terrible Mountain Dew hybrid?

One of my guys called me in this morning to tell me he has stage 3 cancer. He's probably about 30, has a wife and 2 kids. I know lot of people have had it and are fine, but it's still crushing to hear. Really good guy.

:? That is some awful news leash. Very sorry to hear it. Makes me think I should go back in for a physical this winter.

Good idea. I avoid doctors at all costs, but I'm getting too old to do that anymore. This is proof.

Depends on your "luck" as to what kind it is. Sorry to hear.

Some people are truly unbelievable.

I had a concall w/ my manager and HR to get his FMLA rolling and all that.

After I told them, my manager said, "Whew! I thought you were going to tell me he was quitting or something."

Dead silence. I said, "I would much prefer that be the case."

She then said, "Oh, no, no, I meant from our perspective."

HR rep was like, "Yeah, that'd still be better."

Then she started backtracking. I get along with my boss quite well, and she's not generally a horrible person, but that was a disgusting statement.

I don't know why but the chicken carbonara I made the other day really hurts my ass. It's not even spicy.

I'll go into details in the coming weeks. I just have to wrap my head around it first.

Internet plans that only give you 1 mbps upload. Plenty of download in a two person home, but not enough upload to stream on two different devices. So already overpriced $50 plan turns out to not be enough. Need to go up to $65 where they grace us with 2 mbps upload.

Of course all of this is because of the fears of piracy. When people complain about the costs/speeds of internet in this country, it's actually the upload speeds they should to be complaining about, and why they are on par with Baluchistan.

Yeah, that seems pretty plausible. Let's start the diaper donations now.

My phone crapped out this morning and then my well intentioned son broke the wall thermostat bringing up laundry causing me to have to figure out some alternative way to turn on the heat in my house. I'm hoping it'll automatically shut itself off when it gets reasonably warm.

Medical setback, getting cold unexpectedly, things now breaking & not really working for three months really is upping the stress levels.

Dr. says I can have one drink a day, today feels more like 2-3 are needed.
