Who knows if Fangio is even around after next season? Let's take the guy that doesn't have to be "used" correctly with the #3 pick. If you're taking a guy at #3, you shouldn't need some wizard to unlock his potential. His value should be there in any system.

Why do you make it sound like you are mfing me even when we are entirely in agreement?

Agreed. I think he can start at both s and cb on day 1 but he can be so much more

Ok so we agree Peppers over Hooker. Cool.

I don't. I can't wait to watch Peppers but not on the Bears.

I think Peppers vs. Hooker is going to be the great debate for the Bears going forward.

I'm a Peppers guy, but Hooker's highlight videos jump out at you. He's definitely a can't miss talent that I missed.

Stop.

Peppers is no greater than the third best safety in this draft going into the combine

A whole lot of time until the 1st round kicks off.

Peppers, Hooker, Adams might as well be a toss up.

I'm good with all three but I'm really good with hooker. This is supposed to be a great year for db. It just so happens the bears need 4 of them (probably less as I think highly of hall and maybe one of those ss can be good when teamed with a true fs).

I suppose you could make a case that CB is an even greater need

I would be all for trading down if they can. Would like to have two first round picks for next year when Sam Darnold of USC can enter the draft. Saw him a couple of times this year including once in person. He certainly looks the part of a can't miss type NFL quarterback. Like him better than any of the quarterbacks in the draft this year.

Really hope they do not reach for a QB.

If one or two teams in front of them take a QB, the Bear pick becomes a golden ticket. If the draft falls Garrett and Allen, the Bear pick only really maximizes value if someone wants to leapfrog the team picking #4 for a particular player.

Nonsense, Every year the Bears have a chance to draft an absolute phenom in the first and second round..they just aren't wise enough to recognize it. Look at every single draft and see who they passed on.

Not for the Bears. Peppers is a fancy hood ornament. The Bears need a reliable car.

Peppers is flashy and you can probably find a role for him on a defense and the return game. I don't think anybody will mess with him doing anything on offense. I believe he can do many things well. Not sure he does anything great.

He probably should be a corner but he has no history of covering guys or defending passes.

He'll still go very high because his athleticism will be off the charts. With the right team, he could be amazing. I don't think it's the Bears.

I dont think its really a question between Peppers and Hooker at #3, Hooker is clearly the superior player.

The question is if trading down to the teens with Buffalo or Arizona (Washington may even be interested depending what happens with Cousins) and get Peppers or just get the best guy at #3. There's also a decent chance Hooker could be around at #11, a risk you might be willing to take if Buffalo becomes enamored with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

I don't think there's a chance Hooker gets past Tennessee or San Diego at 5 and 7.

Well "San Diego" may be in the market for other things this year. That's another possible trade down candidate if these whispers around Rivers have merit. This is contingent on the combine a little but I have a hard time believing the Titans will pass on Mike Williams if he's available at #5. That will give them a complete offense around Mariota, which right now is almost perfect except for the lack of a true #1 WR.

Also the Bills pick #10, not #11.

If that's the case, hard to see Cleveland or San Fran not being at the top of the 2018 draft.

He better mail his signing bonus to Mike Williams if that happens.

And I hope you're right -I don't want the Bears anywhere near a strong armed QB who relies on his wide outs going up for rebounds to catch passes. Seen enough of that shit.

Rick, let's say Watson and Kizer inexplicably go 1 and 2. You passing on Garrett and Allen and taking the Tribusky kid from NC?
