Hey, wait, I've got a new complaint. There's a Korean couple that runs the Mobil on Dempster and Crawford where I occasionally buy my papers. The wife is okay but the husband is a rude cocksucker. He never smiles or greets a customer. So today I was buying a Tribune and I gave the guy a twenty. There was no verbal communication with this asshole. He just started slowly making my change. Counting out the three singles seemed like a major operation. I was getting pretty agitated, so after he put the bills through the slot I just stood there. He was looking at me like, "What the fuck?" And I said, "The paper is a buck ninety-nine. You forgot my penny." Fuck him.

My real complaint is that the Pakistani convenient store at Kedzie and Touhy that is a short walk from my house no longer carries newspapers. I guess I may have been the only guy who bought them.

You're probably too young to remember this, but one of the last electric buses ran on Pulaski on a trolley system where they had antennae that hooked to wires above the street like this:

Remember,Hell I rode that bus! Pulaski & North Ave. is where families went to shop. We had Walgreens across the street from Woolworths. Across the street was Pioneer Bank with that record shop around the corner on Pulaski. We had Crawford's clothing on North ave. with the Hot Dog vendor outside there. we had the Tiffin movie theater and the malt shop next to that.
