 It's funny because it's true.

This may have been mentioned but it is hilarious that Holmes can't ever host with Parkins because he "teaches a class" but he literally wanted to be on that shift every day. I guess class would have been cancelled.

"Can't Do It" was on its way to being a completely forgettable segment. This could make it in to a great one if people (and the producers) let callers ask about Laurence.

Didn't you hear him? He teaches a class. He's doing great. So great that he has to hold out on negotiating his new, one-year deal. Everything's aces for him.

Toward the end of the segment, Perkins was extending an olive branch saying he requested to work with lawwwwerence. Lawwwwewerencs slips in a I teach a class in response to it. He is soooo much better than Perkins the only way they should work together is if he is teaching.

That was some good shit

I looked at both of their Twitter feeds and didn't see much about this incident. I think there was one comment about it on Parkins' page.

Does Leery face any repercussions for this? Threatening a co-worker on the air doesn't seem like it would go unnoticed by HR or management in any workplace, even an overgrown high school like WSCR. Lawrence seems to think he's living in a comic book or wrestling world where his tough guy talk and threats don't have actual consequences.

The truth is Les has had a very nice career in sports in this city. All of those guys thought they were above him

Given what we know about Laurence, I didn't think it was 100% his fault. I mean, I could see how him not getting the job being brought up all the time on the midday show would be annoying. And Parkins is the one that kept pressing the "Laurence is mad" angle. Of course, Laurence always has to take it too far and make physical threats and try to bigtime Parkins. Laurence is a petulant, insecure, half-pint dork with a Napolean complex, but I didn't think this one was entirely his fault (he just made it 100x worse).

Pride is a tough thing to overcome. Laurence could be a beloved hero by coming to CFMB and being a real guy like Mac. But he's too prideful. What do we know? We're just pantsless cretins that listen to these shitty shows more than the average guy. This stuff often becomes clearer in retrospect. Like after you're relegated to the night shift and your career isn't what it could have been had you done things differently.

Like the United thing. It wasn't really about money. It was about pride. Offer two or three grand and someone gets off the plane. Crisis averted. But the employees thought they had the whip hand. "Fuck you!" People love saying "Fuck you!" It feels good. I admit it. But it doesn't usually work out that well. Now $3000 looks tiny compared to refunding an entire flight. And Oscar Muñoz is publicly groveling for his job.

Larry should take a lesson. Get that pride under control. Be a real person.

Hi, Larry. Lose the passive-aggressive, tough guy act. It's lame. Nobody is intimidated by you.

His being a passive-aggressive bitch, particularly on the air, is probably the best way to right the ship ... yeah, that'll do it ... he's gonna be just fine.

The next time they do that segment someone should ask who is more thin skinned, Larry or Spiegs.

Transition 1:00-1:20. Cubs game 1:20. Nice afternoon.

Edit: Oops I forgot the Cubs are on the Score. No transition because of Cubs pregame.

Hasn't Leery regularly joined the other hosts lampooning Murph for, among other things, taking umbrage at the bits of other shows on the station, and wanting to hash out beefs in the hallway?
