They really don't belong on airplanes period(outside of service animals). If you are moving, then sorry, drive em.

I agree. Since nobody gives a fuck about you, feel free to travel via the cargo hold.

America had the idea to modify a handful of planes to accept some pets (i.e. like the first few rows of seating), then charge people like $10,000 to fly with their animal in the cabin. It's not a terrible idea in theory.

I thought about this a lot because then we get into the problem of defining a legitimate service animal. I don't really want to take away a blind guy's wooby, but now you've opened the door for the asshole that needs to have his comfort ferret on board to calm his nerves and his douchebag "doctor" who says it's necessary. So all service dogs can go in cargo too and the attendant can help the blind people and the dog will be waiting for Ray Charles when he disembarks.

Quote:
Two bulls are standing at the top of a hill overlooking a pasture. One is an old-timer and the other is young. In the pasture are dozens of attractive cows, milling about and eating the tender grass beneath their hooves. The young bull says to the old bull, "Let's run down the hill and fuck us a cow!!" The old bull calmly looks at the young one and replies, "Let's WALK down the hill and fuck them all."

Honestly Frank, I lost track of all the people here you are beefing with. Calm down, and pick your battles. You can't fight everyone at once.

I have this goofy friend who gets all twitchy when the plane lands while he has to wait for everyone to gather their shit and get off. He had this brilliant "idea" for an airline that used two egresses and thought there would be a huge market for it among those who like to disembark quickly (everyone).

Yeah, he loves to sit near the front. Those seats aren't always available. This is the same guy who flies three times a year and had to get pre-clearance from the TSA.

There is only one ocean liner left in the world and there is definitely a market for a safe and fast way to travel with your pet.

The issue with the modified pet airliner is demand for the service would be spread out everywhere. You can't send 1/3rd of the plane to the UK and another 3rd to Singapore. Plus people leave from different places too. The pet flight from JFK to LHR doesn't do a lot of good for people trying to get from San Francisco to Greece safely with their animal.

The solution for that, in my mind, is a shuttle like service where the plane begins service west coast, say LAX, then stops in DEN, ORD before making a big stop on the east coast. That way the airline can at least cover every time zone with the service. Then on the Europe side hit LHR, FRA, BCN etc. before doing the same thing in reverse.

A lot of people moving for work are simply going to expense the whole trip anyways and the airlines could enforce a 1:1 animal:human ratio on board while the rest of the family flies a conventional airliner.

He is right. It is the longest wait ever. Worst part of a trip. I can’t imagine doing it with someone’s pet pig nibbling on my shoes.

Just calm the fuck down. Relax. Don't knock people over trying to get your shit out of the overhead bin. Your turn will come.
