You are Dylan Sikura. After years of the Blackhawks' dogged pursuit, you sign with them and score two assists in your first professional game. You are not the first star, the first star is some random dude who works in an office and stood around for a few minutes while the likely conference champions wished they were someplace else. There is no unfairer game than hockey.

Delia is expected to be able to play tomorrow. Quenneville said he was cramping.

His post-game interview was great.

I suppose. Giving third draft to Seabs also played into this too. Both are just nice, cutesy pr moves that are fairly meaningless.

The interview cracked me up.

I read about the Emergency Goalie story this morning. Why do they even bother with something like that? Just tell someone on the roster to put on some pads and get out there. I never knew hockey players were so weak that they had to grab some schmuck off the street who hasn't played hockey in 13 years.

Some teams do designate a skater as their emergency third goalie.

Somewhere on a Winnipeg message board there is a Curious Hair proclaiming the season over after losing to a schmuck from the street.

A Curious Hair? They're all like that up there.

That was enjoyable watching them bend St. Louis over when they absolutely needed those points tonight.

Oh the end was great. The GM was caught on camera rolling his eyes and then rolling his chair 180 degrees and walking off. Tarasenko broke his stick over his leg. They were pissed.

I am drowning
There is no sign of land
You are coming down with me
Hand in unlovable hand
And I hope you die
I hope we both die

And just like that the Hawks lost 1 draft spot and are now tied with the Islanders for the 8/9 spot. They were at 7 at the start of the night.

Yes yes and yes. I am glad I stuck with the game. Eight seconds left, and hopefully the Blues' playoff hopes went poof.

Hawks lost and the Blues squeeze into the playoffs. There are no winners in a Nashville-St. Louis series.

Why did I watch that game?

I'd like to see Colorado beat the Blues and knock them out of the playoffs.

I watched the HNIC broadcast tonight and it was as depressing and somber a mood as you would expect, but also handled with the utmost class.

Hawks draft lottery odds:

1st: 6.5%
2nd: 6.8%
3rd: 7.1%
7th: 26.0%
8th: 39.5%
9th: 13.1%
10th: 1.0%

Perds pick will fall between 29-31 depending on whether they win the Cup, lose the Final, or do anything else.

The good news is that there are 3 dmen that are all top 10 picks (not including Dahlin) and one of them should be there wherever the Hawks pick.

This is in like half an hour, by the way. 20.4% chance of a top-three pick, I kinda almost like those odds!

Hawks busted down to 8th. I'd consider trading for a roster player if the offer is right. Jersey got Schneider for a 7th. He never helped them very much, they still missed the playoffs the next four years, but quite a haul.

Would love them to get Hughes or Walstrom. I don’t think the Schneider trade is a good comp since everyone knew that was a terrible trade for Vancouver. But if they could get a player of Schneider’s ilk, I’d definitely be in favor of it.

I've read that Bowman likes Wahlstrom (it fits, he loves natdev guys) but if he gets picked ahead of #8 you're standing there with your dick in your hands.

Sounds like a good pick- a 6'1 high-volume shooter.

I don't think he'll be there after Detroit (another org that loves USNDTPers) and Vancouver, though. I think the Hawks are in the trade-the-future-for-the-present territory that I used to make fun of the Sharks for always being in. Sharks didn't win the Cup three times, though. Pray for the Perds getting bounced so that the pick is #27 to be packaged with #8, and then think big. Karlsson big, maybe?

Is there any chance of getting one of Toronto's young forwards with the picks? Matthews, Marner, and Nylander are nearing their second contracts. I know defense is the priority, but would any of those be an option?
