The Southwest Service absolutely should have a stop right at the parking lots near 35th. I know that route is funky and it runs on freight tracks, but they would only have to stop there on game days. That stop would not even have to be as nice as Lou Jones across the way. Just put in some concrete stairs, a ramp, and railings.

I mean an L line built out to the I-90 stops. The CTA buses are horrible, again, especially on way back from day games. The poor students on those buses have to put up with drunk Cubs fans, while the fans have to make every stop. Literally, people get on those buses to go two blocks.

No, they would never do that. I don't think they want spurs on the Blue Line (hence the Pink Line) and it would cost a ton. The priority is extending the Red Line, and who knows whether that will ever get done.

This is entirely true. There is nothing wrong with the location of 35th and Shields, nor is there anything wrong with the ballpark in it's current state.

Does anyone remember when they were discussing building a new stadium in the South Loop? Of all the proposed White Sox stadium sites i believe that would have been the one that would have took off.

It will be a different type of deal but they will get one. It would take a lot of guts to let the White Sox leave the city. They gave DePaul a ton and they literally couldn't leave.

Technically there is one. Take the Red line south to Washington, and transfer to the northbound Blue Line.

I don't think Turner Field was ever renovated as extensively as Comiskey was (not counting the initial conversion from track and field to baseball). The situation feels closer to Kauffman Stadium, where as old as the original building may be, the size and scope of the renovations should have them staying put for quite some time.

I like where the White Sox field is at for me personally, going to more Sox games last couple years, for where I come from it's easy to get too.

On the Cubs, I would like to take the girlfriend there, but like most here, heard no parking, I went like 20 years ago, thought parked close to the stadium, but can't remember.

I have no argument....they were at least able to fix / improve the Sox ballpark. I don't think there's much you can do with the Library that is the United Center.

This discussion is years away. We will see new White Sox ownership in our lifetime, but I'd wager it's 5-10 years away. Then it will take new ownership a few years to start lobbying for a new stadium.
The DePaul arena (Wiintrust) is a really light comparison at a cost of $173 Million. Target Field was $555 million. Wrigley Renovations totaled $575 million. That's a much higher price tag to sneak by, but I guess I would have bet against even the DePaul arena passing.

at the very least new Comiskey should have faced down town. Does anyone know why it faced east? Especially when at the time the only views were State Way Gardens and Robert Taylor homes? Does it have to do with wind or sun?
