Lavine is gone
Dunn maybe too, and either way who cares
Lauri was traded up for. They didn't need to give up Butler to move up to 9th last year.

You hate tanking NBA seasons, so I don't understand how you could be ok with either. Both are nice players but will never be stars. An entire NBA season down the shitter for a good not great player? You have to take fucking swing with a guy like Porter.

I get that point of view but I don't subscribe to it.

Since I hate tanking with a passion, I don't want to draft a stiff and be in this same position next year after watching another miserable season. Get a good player at 7. Don't get a guy with the highest ceiling and lowest floor.

Not reading this thread but who does this leave to the Bulls?

Adrian Wojnarowski

@wojespn
Here's how the Top 6 of tonight's NBA Draft is taking shape: 1. Suns: Deandre Ayton. 2. Kings: Marvin Bagley Jr.; 3. Hawks: Luka Doncic; 4. Jaren Jackson, Jr.; 5. Mavericks: Mo Bamba; 6. Magic: Trae Young.

Super smart. Extremely hard worker. Athletic and physical defender. Love everything about his game and him as a prospect.

He didnt put a team next to pick 4, which tells me this whole thing could go off the rails as of pick #2.

I find the potential options that could be available at 22 very intriguing also. We better not draft some Euro dude and stash him for 3 years with that pick. There should be a quality player available there.

you will be unhappy

Grayson Allen goes at 26 to the '6ers ….gives me more reason to hate them

Short, poor shooting point guard that averaged only 3.6 apg vs 2.8 TO. No thanks.

Can Carter play center in today's NBA? If so I'm ok with that. If he & Lauri play the same position of if they intend to play LM at SF then a big no.

Not everyone needs to be a great shooter. His primary scoring option is driving and finishing and most guys who are elite at that aren't also great shooters and if they are they are top 2 prospects, not top 10-12.

I think there are a lot more important factors to look at than A/T ratio on a one and done team where he wasn't surrounded by good shooting talent and was the defense's main focus every game.

The guy who won MVP last year suggests otherwise.

Trae Young lead the nation in assists (and scoring) on a one and done team where he wasn't surrounded by good shooting talent and was the defense's main focus every game...and he would make you unhappy (a point on which I agree but not as much as if they picked Sexton).

I'm not a fan of drafting Duke players (despite being a fan) but I'd be more than happy with Carter. I think Bagley's going to have some major issues.

Yes but I have much more doubts about the rest of Young's overall game and his makeup. By all accounts Sexton is very smart, very hard working, and very passionate about basketball. All prospects are crapshoots to an extent but I'd rather get a guy that I'm confident will do everything he can to maximize his strengths and improve his weaknesses.

I think Sexton will be a good two way player with a chance to be great. I think Young has a higher ceiling but a much lower floor and I think he will need to be an elite scorer at the NBA level simply to be a productive player with how bad he may be defensively.

Sexton is impressive going to the hoop which I like but his distribution skills look pretty bad. I dunno

Its clear now they never stood a chance

well ok maybe not clear but seems like Atlanta is getting Doncic if the Kings dont. and they wont pay what the Kings want (even if they probably should).

The guy who will be our Woj for tonight since he promised not to tip picks says first 2 are Ayton and Bagley

Porter might be around in the teens or later. Back injuries are just too much to look past.

I've decided that if push comes to shove I would do

1.7
1.22
top 3 proected 2019 1st
Dunn
Portis

for

1.3
a second rounder or something. the hawks wont need it because their roster will be full

that's as much as I could part with. there's no way anyone else is offering more, save someone with actual assets and not a moribund team picking in the top 10 jumps into the mix.
