Here is my point in a nutshell. Of the top 11 teams 5 are from so called blueblood programs. This is what drives college basketball..Loyolas of the world do not. If they open this thing up they will probably lose the top 50-70 kids per year. Every kid that believes he is "professional" basketball material is going to leave. Now the only people that are concerned about Duke are the "Dukies".
It won't be 50-70 kids per year. The 50th best player in a class is projected to be a fringe NBA prospect. Why is the NBA going to care about them as an 18 year old?

Take Purdue. No one outside of Boilermakers alumni cares about their sports progran. Even if they are good the feeling is so what?
What are you talking about? All sports are driven primarily by being a fan of one team. Do you think people who aren't Bulls fans care if the Bulls are good? Of course they don't.

People don't want to watch mediocre basketball. College is garbage already. Last year's Final Four and championship game was weak as hell. you take the top 50-70 and place them in an NBA farm system and watch how many people simply walk away
You need to pick a lane. College basketball still gets pretty good ratings and has huge but localized interest. So, if it is "garbage" now then why would Zion Williamson on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants change that?
