I don't think you can judge a team by how they play up 20+ points in the first half. It's almost impossible not to let off the gas.
How'd that work out for the Bears in the Packers game?
That was a different team. Especially on offense. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky looks like an entirely different player. Fuller has done a better job catching the ball too.to
You are right. And the other defensive players have now begun to really augment the addition of Mack. Fuller, to my mind, is having a Pro Bowl season. And Hicks is now really beginning to collapse the pocket along with his fellow linemen.
And on offense, we see Cohen making more and more an impact along with Mitch's receivers since the first few games. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is a quick study and is really thriving right now. It is really fun to watch his progression. He is not a text book quarterback. He is an athlete that plays a very good quarterback. ITs not pretty sometimes but it WORKS.
Kudos also to Babich, the offensive line coach. Talent-wise, this team is not among the best in football. Far from it, particularly at the tackle positions. But what he has done is to make these guys better than just serviceable, but pretty good over-all in conjunction with a quarterback that gets the ball off quickly and can buy time with his feet as well as to see the field and take off and run.
The difference over-all of this team from the first game to now is amazing progress. Ladies and gentlemen, the Chicago Bears are a good football team.
