Fuck, he wasn't even the best drummer the Beatles had.

Well, we all can agree he wasn't the Best drummer the Beatles had.

The Who is definitely top 10 material, but I prefer Floyd.

He claimed the porn was for a research project.

Smart move. If it happens again he can play the "Keith Moon's exploding drum set gave me CTE" card.

The Who were great. Pound for pound they were one the most talented band to come out of that scene. I always found John Entwistle's bass playing to be particularly imaginative.

Ringo was a magician on drums for the Beatles catalog. I quite like his drumming. How about "Paperback Writer"?

Paul was no slouch on bass, either.

Overrated.

You are parroting something that John Lennon said in jest. It's completely ridiculous.

We already covered this in the Best Drummers thread. Anyone who knows anything about drumming knows Ringo was great.

Ringo was great in that he knew his role and fulfilled it just about to perfection.

Ringo was not in any way, shape, or form "great" the way that Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, etc were great.

Zak Starkey is a million times better hitting the skins than his Dad ever could even dream to be.

Paul is properly rated as a bass player.

Some killer bass lines and his musical sensibilities are sublime.

Frank is occasionally wise. This is one of those times.

They get my vote as GOAT, especially as a live act. Like Ray Davies, Pete wrote a lot of very British themed songs. Many were duds, but many are timeless, beautiful, monstrous classics.

The Stones are right there. More prolific, more bluesy, not nearly as bombastic.

The Beatles get their own wing in the museum.

The Kinks are my sympathetic favorites. The unsung heroes of the top four British Invasion bands. Ray still writes beautiful songs. Punk to pop to rock anthems.

Agreed on all counts. Saw the Kinks at NIU in the early 80’s. Great show...keep hoping for a long rumored reunion...seems unlikely though.

Heard a song last night on a radio show that sounded like the who. Found it Daltrey's got a new album out. Sounded pretty good so will check it out.

Right drummer in the right band. You know, a few years ago when two members of The Doors came together without Densmore, they tried Stewart Copeland...Great drummer...wrong band...

Stated very well.
The Who are a valid answer, not sure I agree, but it's a worthy candidate. As is Zeppelin, The Stones, and the Beatles. Dependng on the criteria, the Grateful Dead also worthy.
