If the beat the Giants and the Rams, they have just as good as chance as any other NFC team at getting one of the bye's.

The Bears are the best positioned team to beat the Rams, Chiefs or Saints vs. the rest of the also rans because of their stellar and oft scoring defense. There is no way the Bears will or should be favored in any of those match-ups, but those teams will have a serious challenge with the Bears D.

I think the second spot is still a possibility with the Saints having to play @Panthers, Steelers and Panthers the next three weeks

Sunday's victory over the Rams leaves the Bears potentially one week away from clinching the NFC North. They can do it in Week 15 with a win against the Packers. A first-round bye isn't out of the question but would require two losses by the Rams over the final three weeks.

Although the Bears beat the Rams on Sunday, the computer isn't really giving Chicago any chance of earning a first-round bye. The computer is projecting that the Bears will finish at least two games behind the Rams, which means everyone in Chicago can start mentally preparing themselves for the Bears to host their first home playoff game since 2010. According to SportsLine's current projections, the Bears would play the Vikings in the wild-card round, which could make things interesting, because they'll also be playing the Vikings in their regular season finale. Bears remaining schedule: Green Bay, at San Francisco, at Minnesota.

Even so, it would take either one of the Rams (vs Eagles, At Cardinals, Vs 49ers) or the Saints (At Panthers, Vs Steelers, Vs Panthers) to lose two of their last three and of course, the Bears would need to win out.

Is it possible? Yes. It is likely? Not at all.

The good news? If the Bears somehow finishing with the same record as either of the top two teams, they would win the tie-breaker due to either head-to-head or a superior conference record.
