His value around the league will soon be known. It seems highly unlikely that the Wiz will pick up his option - thus making him an UFA. Shouldn't the $/yr qualify as a determinant of his value? How much says good vs average vs cancer?

I re-read the thread. This is my mistake. Dallas was NOT favored in that series.

This was about how many times LeBron was favored in a series versus how many championships he won. Someone had said that LeBron was always favored and he is a disappointment for only winning 3 series. But he was only favored in three of the NBA championships he played in. The 538 link describes those series.

In my original post, when I was more versed on the topic, I had stated the Mavericks were stacked in 2011, but noted they were still the underdogs.

He was favored against Dallas. Nate Silver doesn't change that. Most people favored Miami. That's a fact.

Not at all. Top 3 have a 14% chance of the #1 pick and 4th has a 12.5% chance at it. Not a big difference under the new structure this year.
