In today's NFL, I question signing any kick returner for that kind of money. So few kicks get returned anymore in the NFL it just isn't worth it.

He is not just going to be a kick returner. He isn't going to catch 100 passes either, but he will definitely be used at times in the pass and run game. If Nagy can come up with plays for Bradley Sowell and Aikeem Hicks to score touchdowns, he'll be able to use Patterson in a good way too. Oh Yeah.

I dig this signing. Dude is a weapon that can be used at multiple levels of the game.

Ten touches is way too much. Pound with Montgomery then try and find an opportune moment when they think they can seal an edge and break Patterson lose. Basically exactly what they did in this game (and to great effect).

Three, maybe five, touches on offense is about right. Cohen is the guy who should be getting ten or so a game.

Cohen has regressed and still makes rookie mistakes. That 9 yard loss was inexcusable.

I do not know why the Bears entered this season without any sort of cohesive plan or vision for how the offense would look. Or maybe they did and Mitch has been so abysmal they've had to improvise. They way they've juggled Monty, Davis, Cohen and Patterson has felt so clunky and awkward.

Nagy hasn't countered the league's adjustment to him. It's been 7 or 8 games.

He doesn't even need to make some grand, elaborate scheme. The Bears have a bounty of guys who are terrors with the ball in their hands. Even Robinson is now moving and exploding out of cuts like he's three years younger. Just get the ball in these guys hands and have them make the first man miss. No team in football is more stacked with this quantity of guys capable of shaking defenders, just get them the fucking ball.

As for Cohen, Monty and Patterson they can all have the ball just handed off to them or be targeted in the screen game.

To Nagy's credit this is all very difficult to do when the defense knows the QB cant throw the ball more than twenty yards. They're very content to let Gabriel and Miller burn them when they know Mitch cant do anything with it.

Gabriel is open all the time downfield. Miller you'd have to be going back to last year to see what he's capable of, I dont know what is going with him now. I hope it sorts itself out.

USE HIM in the sense of getting him involved. Let him run a fly pattern and have Mitch overthrow it. Bubble screen. Pitch out. I'm not saying run him between the tackles 30 times a game, but there are ways to get him the ball 8-10 times a game.
