That's why it's so frustrating watching this team. It's hard to have hope for any of their young guys when it's crystal clear the coach is way over his head and seems incapable of developing any of them. That's the dilemma. Reigning him in or letting him loose and living with the failures. It's kind of an easy decision since this team isn't going anywhere.

I don't think that Pierce has really reigned Trae Young in though. He still takes a ton of bad shots. He still puts forth no effort on Defense. He benefits immensely from playing on a bad team. They will allow him to play through his mistakes. Whenever they become serious about winning they are going to have a bit of a problem where ol Trae is concerned. Right now they don't care as it is all about development.

I agree he hasn't been reigned in. My point is every failure is a teaching moment and from where I sit, it's working.

Moreso someone on bum teams has to score. He does very little to help the team win. Playing him early and allowing him to fire away without impunity, turn the ball over and play shitty defense is one of the reasons they were losing so much early in the season.

LTG, are you under the impression players cant improve? You seem to be arguing that what a player is in his first couple months of his career is what he is permanently. If you don't believe that, then stop mentioning the early part of this season. Everyone has already conceded he played poorly to start the season.

He was injured. White has played all season.

Fultz is a starter on a team headed to the playoffs.
White is a backup on a team headed for the lottery.

My "eyetest" something you pathetically lack tells me that he is a much better basketball player than Coby White.

For one he actually has a position. White does not.

#2 he actually tries to play defense. White does not.

Yes because Carmelo took his team to the playoffs as a 19 year old rookie. His team improved by 26 games during his first season.

Coby White is a bench player on one of the worst teams in the league.

His numbers on the season are putrid.

Terrible shooting % and atrocious assist to turnover rating.

Melo contributed to winning. This kid doesn't.
