I took one chicken breast per person, cut it into 1 inch pieces.
Dropped a box of scalloped potatoes in it, put the chicken on that, and sprinkled in teh scalloped potatoe mix on top of that
Dumped a bunch of frozen green beans, carrots, and peas on top of that
Added in chopped garlic, dried onion, some onion poweder, some garlic poweder, and pepepr
Took a can of campbell's cream of chicken soup (plus one can of water) and dumped that over the top.
Topped off everything with a thick (maybe 1/8 inch) layer of italian-seasoned breadcrumbs

Cook at 350 for 45 minutes if thawed, 80 minutes if frozen.

Boom. Kids absolutely loved it!

You know what would be perfect for that?

Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. They're like $1 a sleeve of 8. I'd just unroll it and lay over the top when you've got 15 minutes left to go.

Will try that next time.

Might brush some butter over the top of that for max effect, too.

If I wasn't trying to eat healthy I would chop up some bacon, fry it up, and brush the bacon grease and bits over the top instead of the butter.

Same here, but no pills until 48.

Thanks to being sporadically stuck in the house, I've cut so far back on meat and dairy it's frightening . Had two days in a row eating red meat and felt like crap for three days later. But got a surprise benefit of feeling bad after a bottle of Coke Zero and am dedicated to cutting that out as well.

Went to the store today, lots of vegetables, avocado and dried fruit. Maybe this should go into the Commitment to Excellence thread though.

I was complaining about the disruption to my system and my retired nurse aunt fell out laughing and told me that I was lucky to get such a quick response.

I guess that there's hope for me yet :eye:

Potassium balances out sodium, correct? Just get fancy and scallop-up some plantains instead of the potatoes.

My plans to grill fizzled out.

I made a salad with lettuce, strawberries, blueberries, rotisserie chicken and olive garden dressing.

Next time you see your doc, tell him to check your magnesium. I got put on a low dose daily (cheap at Costco, magnesium oxide 250 mg) in the aftermath of some dehydration in August that sent my heart going a little too fast for a few hours. Ever since, it's been a GI miracle.

Does anybody here vacuum seal? If so, what do you use and what's a typical weekly cost? Can you microwave or boil in bag (oops, sous vide) straight out of the freezer?

Picked up a pork belly at the store today... now I gotta figure out what I’ll do with said belly before putting it in my belly.

Soda is toxic. Diet soda of any kind is double-toxic. I cut that out of my daily life sometime back in 2012 and it's unbelievable how much better you feel without it. Every once in a while, I'll treat myself to a made in Mexico Coca-Cola....real sugar, no high fructose corn syrup. You really enjoy it when it's a rarity and you don't feel crappy afterwards.

Straight up brewed iced tea is my go to if I really need something other than water or coffee.

Chinavirus BBQ Pork

Use about a pound of country style spare ribs. About 3 strips from the package from Costco. Pat dry and put in a storage bag.

Marinade and sauce:

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tsp five spice powder
1/2 tsp red food coloring

Mix all the ingredients well and heat until just starting to boil. Remove from heat and pour over the pork. Seal and coat the pork. Let sit overnight.

Heat oven to 325°. Place the pork on a rack in a pan for 30 minutes. Remove, turn, and brush marinade over pork. Cook for another 30 minutes. Flip and marinade again and cook for 20 minutes. Do it again for another 20 minutes. Then do it again for 10 minutes. Once more flip and brush for 10 minutes and it's done.

Enjoy Chinese pork without the threat of COVID-19.

Made a ham tetrazzini tonight with our left over Easter ham and some leftover shredded Gruyere from an asparagus puff pastry we had. It was delicious old school sloppy good.

Not if that pork was from Smithfield...

I had flames shoot out the grill near the main ignition knob yesterday. so...thinking a new grill is in order. It's time, been 10 years.

The wife has been baking bread. Sourdough, a crusty italian. good stuff.

We've been making imitation halal guys: chicken, gyro, rice, tomato, cucumber sauce. that's been pretty awesome.

I have a deep fryer but have never used it.

I just saw this...yeah, when we swap the oil out, I take it out behind the deck and dump it in the flower bed.
