I personally wouldn't kneel but the whole thing is protesting how society in the view of some is not living up to what the flag represents, not that what the flag represents is unworthy of respect.

This is a fair viewpoint and respectful of the differing opinions of others.

That was my initial feeling and appreciate what you wrote even though to vegan. I have to say I can't do this today if there is some sort of making this entire matter about Brees. You can fill us in RR but wasn't he a champion of the majority of New Orleans people in the Katrina times?

Yes he has been. As I noted earlier, that he had previously done so much good made his tone deaf remarks and sentiment so disappointing.

Everyone kneeling for the past 5 years: We're not peacefully kneeling to disrespect the flag, military or even our ancestors who have fought and died for this country. We are kneeling to bring attention to injustice and police brutality.

Brees: I will not support disrespect of the military or flag. My grandfathers fought in wars and I think about them every time I hear the anthem AND THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT.

All athletes: Did you hear anything that your teammates or any other player around the league said about kneeling.

Brees: I need to do more listening

The big gripe I personally have with Kaepernick is he doesn't vote and he's proud of it.

IIRC no one even noticed what Kaepernick was doing for weeks. Players sit, piss and do a bunch of other things while some D-list celebrity sings the anthem and forgets a few words. You can't measure how much anyone loves America based on their actions during the anthem.

I hear Bernise naturally going off right now and read earlier comments here as well as listened to the Bree's comments aren't people getting it wrong generally?

For instance, Bernsie says the Kap protest was kneeling during the anthem against police brutality, BLM full stop. It was not in any way against the flag and troops etc. I see that completely and it has been discussed over and over.

So if Brees says his view of the anthem is one way and explains how he feels about the matter as well as includes he understands civil rights matters might view differently whys is it wrong.

I did not Brees say Kap is wrong and and was going to act to get him or anyone to not do it. He said he strongly disagrees. Isn't that just the definition of difference of opinion?

Brees doesn't get to decide why Kap's doing what he's doing.

It's not like the reasons Kap did what he did were ambiguous or involved difficult reasoning.

Brees' statement makes it crystal clear he's more worried about 'murica than he is how no small number of American citizens are mistreated. Anything said beyond that is filler and folly and, possibly, an outright lie.

Why any self respecting Bears father would buy his son a Brees jersey is something we'll never understand.

I took him down to N.O. last year and that's what he wanted as his souvenir. He is a Bears/Bulls/Sox fan and hates the Cubs so I am doing most things correctly.

Nor does the mob get to decide what Brees said is wrong (though they did ) and bully him into an apology .

His teammates were the first, and remain the loudest critics of his arrogant remarks. Not your "mob".

First off, it's not a 'mob' ... apparently your interest in a good faith discussion is lacking.

Secondly, yes they can.

If I say 'hello' and tip my cap, and a number of folks up and decide my real message is 'fuck you', that's flat wrong.

At that point, a restatement of my meaning for saying 'hello' should be given and they in turn should be given the chance to correct their interpretation. If not, they deserve any ridicule they've thus invited by taking something clear and purposefully muddying it up with a falsehood. Their opinion is invalidated.

Somebody interested in dialogue and possibly reaching an understanding doesn't get on twitter and act like a jerkoff, he talks to Kap privately - maybe they still disagree, but they've discussed it like men without treating the other like a jerk.

Brees did what he did b/c he's looking to put himself over with the troglodytes that think the balcks should know their place. His statement was based on a demonstrably false narrative and his intent was entirely self-centered.

Pretending to find something to respect in either of the previous two sentences is, at the very least, sad.

Hub or Mac seemed to think it's just a ploy to put pressure on him to get into camp for Brees' last year. If not, the Bears should absolutely be interested.

Why did TB just go for 2 down 11 with 243 left? Being down 9 does not help them there.

They could win with a td and fg.

Strange thing is that before the drive, Brady actually looked fearful.
