I feel this makes sense. Not a medical expert, but the research has said being outdoors means you are less susceptible to catching it. I'm sure there was a way to get some number of fans. That said, how do you choose who gets to go?

We have been working diligently with Soldier Field’s management partner, ASM Global, the Chicago Park District, and public health officials to assess whether a responsible plan that follows City, State, CDC, and NFL guidelines could be developed to safely accommodate a limited number of fans at Soldier Field this season. After discussing a draft plan with City health officials, we are in agreement with the City of Chicago that health metrics show that it is not the right time to welcome fans back to Soldier Field. This was a difficult decision for everyone involved, but we are confident it’s the right one at this time. The health and safety of the city’s residents and fans of the Bears, along with our players and stadium employees, will always take priority. We will continue to work with the City to monitor the environment, and we believe there can be a sound plan in place to bring fans back to Soldier Field once it is deemed safe and appropriate. Until then, Bears home games will not include in-person fans.

All Season Ticket Holders will either receive a refund or 2020 payments can be credited to the 2021 season. Refunds will continue to be processed in the coming weeks using the same method in which the original payment was made. Accounts that remain with a credit balance will have the funds applied towards their 2021 season ticket renewal. There is nothing you need to do to reserve your same seat locations for next year. Season ticket renewal information will automatically be sent to you next February for the 2021 season. All ticket transfers, donations, and secondary sales that have taken place for this season have been cancelled. Attending a Bears game on the lakefront is a special experience because of the energy, noise, and passion that you bring every time. Your presence will be missed, but your support will be felt.
