Here is the point for me. If that very same outfit were worn by the daughter of the CEO of Entercom on the sidelines of a football game then McNeil isn't tweeting about it.

If it isnt good enough to tweet about it in this situation then why would he think that it is ok to tweet about it when it comes to Maria Taylor?

"You wouldn't say anything negative about your boss's daughter so why say it about anyone at all" is a stupid point.

Ignoring the elephant in the room is a stupid, but predictable stance with you.

What is the elephant in the room? That he doesn't have the guts to say that if it were the boss' daughter?

He wouldn't have the guts to tweet about it. Saying it and tweeting about it are separate things.

Reader, you do realize he has talked shit about the way guys dress and speculating on athlete's dick size in the past; that is part of his gimmick.
Was it a stupid comment in this current environment? Yes, the criticism/joke fell flat. The amount of outrage and reaction from management was not deserved.

LTG is implying that Mac only said it because Maria Taylor is black. As if that stopped Tony Kornheiser from openly criticizing his own co-worker Hannah Storm ON THE AIR for her wardrobe choices. Throwing up a half assed hypothetical is pointless.

LTG is the Gene Pincham of this board. Intelligent and probably a good person, but all roads come to the same bigoted point every fucking time.

Its only difficult to ascertain if you are contrarian spewing ass licker hellbent on being a dickhead on a messageboard. In that case I guess the point would appear to be rather vague.

You're confusing me with someone saying that he should've been fired. I've liked the guy for decades, but it was a stunningly dumb tweet in this century.

Actually I'm not but that's always the goto move so why stop now?

I don't know if it was racial. It may have merely been sexist but its definitely inappropriate. If its inappropriate to say to the CEO's daughter then it should be inappropriate to say to Maria Taylor.

Remember the anti woke crowd that exists on here are always quick to say that there aren't two sets of rules remember. Yet now they admit that there are and they wonder why some people may have a problem with that.

Oddly enough, Mr. Tony used to mock Don McNeil as a meatbally buffoon 25 years ago. And I meant "Don".

Honestly, race has nothing to do with this.

If anyone thinks that, I’m sorry you’re part of this country’s cancer.

He didn't say it to her, LTG.

Let me ask you, do you think that any joke about her attire is off limits and "inappropriate"? Or, are you still of the erroneous belief that he was likening her to a porn star rather than likening her attire to the kind found at an awards show notorious for revealing leather outfits?

Just as I thought.

Reader, that is the thing. It was a stupid tweet. It was possibly also a correct assertion. It was not as stupid as Kornheiser criticizing his own co-worker for the same point: on air is not a night club. It was about as stupid as Bruce Levine sending out a tweet insulting Hillary Clinton. That only earned him a week off and an on air dig from Evan Marshall.

How many people make fun of Trump's orangeness? That is considered ok. Why?

Mac: Fired
Kornheiser: Two weeks, but that was a decade ago and he had a lot of advertisers who would have revolted
Bruce: A week
Those who criticize orange men: Nada.

Why the inconsistency? Because Mac attacked a competitor when the Score is fighting to maintain market share.

Afaik it's usually other porn stars presenting there. And it's widely known as a haven for orgies, at least according to stern and the parade of porn stars he had on rotation. Mac knows this, weasely apologists like you can't be honest about it.

As usual.

Chet, you well know that it's been the guys joke for 50 years that women in her position weren't taken seriously if not eye candy at best, fluffers at worst. And that the climate has changed. Bitching about reality is foolhardy.

It's not about "any joke". He compared her style of dress to that of a porn star. If she were actually dressed in that way then it would have been appropriate and no simply "saying" leather doesn't quite cut it. Its just the material that she wore.

She didn't show any cleavage. If she had then by all means it would have been appropriate. She displayed very little skin in fact.

There was nothing about that outfit which entailed pornography. If there were then by all means its appropriate to say it.

YEP!
Its well known that porn stars are often the actual hosts of those shows. Mac knows this thats why he made the comment. He believed that he'd be provided with the sort of cover that guys like JLN is currently attempting now.

Strange how the "allusions" work around here too. Some guys have no trouble with "linkage" even when its fallacious in nature yet in others even when there is apicture so vivid (to quote Beenie Sigel) painted for them they still feign ignorance.
That they are allowed to get away with it on a regular basis is really quite telling.

Yet now they admit that there are and they don't see why that might be a problem.

Afaik it's usually other porn stars presenting there. And it's widely known as a haven for orgies, at least according to stern and the parade of porn stars he had on rotation. Mac knows this, weasely apologists like you can't be honest about it.

As usual.
So you think Mac's joke was meant to be about her participating in orgies? Seems like a stretch.

I've also said from the get go that the joke was clumsily worded and could be interpreted to be about her personally, so I can't fault you for having this view, really. I just think a fair reading of the context of the joke leaves only the interpretation that it was about her leather top being perhaps just a bit too far on the casual/revealing side.

Porn stars host porn star award shows or did you not know this?

The only thing being "revealed" were her shoulders. Nothing about that outfit suggested porn star.

Again as usual.

Are you ever available to have an honest discussion? Once again you're putting forth b.s. I never said. In fact I was clear about my intent, something you've been incapable of since you first became a plague upon this board.

You're a joke.

I've literally shown you examples of women at the AVNs wearing tops playing off the "greaser jacket" motif but reimagined to be more revealing. The top she wore played off the same motif and was reimagined to be a little more revealing as well.

You've gotten to the point where you're parsing the literalness of someone's joke to condemn their joke, which is coincidentally the point where a lot of comedy breaks down and becomes absurd.
