In a vacuum, sure, even this average to slightly above average version of Mack is worth having. When you take Mack and compare him to two 1sts + $23 million in cap room on more players then it becomes clear he's not worth having over 4-5 other combined starters.

4-5 starters?

Yeah, can't believe we don't have 5 starters making a combined $23 million instead of Mack. I'm sure they would be game changers.

You often go to the "Packers have a better player!" route on things.

You often go to "No they don't" route on things. As I said, it's laughable to suggest either of us is more biased or objective in this discussion so just stop.

2 1sts (presumed starters) and $23 million gets you 2-3 starters.

Anyway, it's funny that the below assumption was wrong and you're still dug in on this being a good trade

Probably at some point I did. Idk how much playing on one leg affected it but last year was Rodger’s worst year as a pro.

Do you think Mack’s situation is similar?

I expect Mack to have a better year next year.

Which is in response to you pretending Mack is elite --- bringing up other players playing the same position and outproducing Mack is one of the examples I provided to counteract that claim, which makes a lot of sense, you just don't like hearing it.

8.5 sacks in 16 games is elite? Guess there's like 20-25 elite DEs.

To clarify I went thru the game logs in February or March. I was trying to find out if Mack's decline was real or imagined. Just watching the games it looked to me he was being dropped more and the logs backed that up. I think the least times he'd been dropped in a game was 10. I found an evaluator that had gone thru every snap from 18 and 19 and found his double teams had increased in 19. He also found the number of G/T double teams had increased from the T/TE and RB double teams he had seen in 18.

I think we do, and they call them the "offensive line"

And they definitely are gamechangers, but moreso for the other team.

A lot of silence this week. FF isn't even here to say that the Packers have 12 players including their long snapper who are better than Mack.

Kmet would be 4th string on the RAIDERS.

Mack still is getting out produced by several guys you don’t even know

Let’s let Kmet get to 30 career catches before putting him in Canton

I wish his numbers were a little better too. Sunday was a good start if it really matters.

It was. If he played like that every week this thread wouldn't have made it past the first page.

Maybe he's back in "game shape" finally.

Raiders could sure use someone like Mack. Too bad the firing of their DC yesterday just distracts from the larger fail of trading Mack.

Tough position for a rookie in a tough season to be a rookie. He's starting to show and really displaying two way ability at the position. I don't think he has elite ability but definitely next tier. I think people compared him to Kyle Rudolph, which seems fair in terms of style. They will probably have very similar numbers at the end of their rookie years

If he's Kyle Rudolph long term that should be considered disappointing. Rudolph is a perfectly average guy but if you don't have an elite tight end then you just have a guy. big deal.

He had his first sack in 5 games on Sunday!

They can sign me if they like. I am fairly confident that I can accumulate 0 sacks over five games just as well as he can.

I'm sure he'll be equally dominant against the Vikings on Sunday assuming they have given up on their season, too.

Not going to do a deep dive, so I hope this drive by analysis suffices, but as you know a lack of statistical production on defense isn't necessarily indicative of poor play. There are many reasons why you may not get home as a DL/LB guy, with just being bad only one out of several other possibilities.

This is as close to being an "analysis" as Khalil Mack has been to an elite player this season.

It's a shame TM has been co-opted by the anti-Bears faction of the board. We should install loyalty tests when accepting new members to avoid a similar fate. The Russians are winning.

But ya gotta love all the excuses for the 2nd highest paid defensive player in league history
