I like you Rodeo, but obviously your opinion of Farmer kept you from being able to read.

You might like me Frontman, but I love you

No, I know all fan bases have asswipes, thats a given, but Farmer acts like there is 100 good cub fans the all the others are assholes. I dont like farmer, never have never will, I just find the guy beyond annoying and when starts judging people, I find it funny because most who know him, find him to be a asswipe. Again, my lack of tolerance for farmer does cloud anything good he might do or say, its not fair, I know it, but he does the same thing.

Muprh and Farmer are similar when it comes to their personalties, they want all the attention, they want to talk all the time and they are never wrong, they could be brothers.

With that said, I rather spend time with Farmer then Murph.

Vann, Ed says that he doesn't hate all Cubs fans.
That means he believes there are only 100 good fans. Has he ever said that?

Stone does basically give the same report all week, and then carries over alot of it the next week.

Stone's Cub Ax to grind is an issue. He does often compare the Sox to the Cubs when he can find a stat to make the Sox look better. He has lost some respect with many for this. It also brings im down a notch as an analyst when he tries to talk about the Cubs positives.

He really has a problem with Jim Hendry after the whole Kent Mercker issue. I am nt sure what he wanted Hendry t do, but it is obvious Stone has some unresolved issues.

I applaude Muprh for being the only guy on the Station who backs the Cubs.

That is except for the closet Cub fan, Bernstein.

Stone's Cubs ax to grind is no different than Piersall's Sox ax when he was on the SCR.

Piersall had a reason to be pissed off, he got fired for no reason, stone left, he didnt get fired, the cubs made him a offer, he refused it, he left. Stone is a arrogant prick, a so-so color guy who now is a sox apologist, just like farmer and hawk. Other then that, he's my guy!

Stoney has risen to pudwhack status in my world. He has a great deal of company.

I also get the feeling that Stone is trying to hone in on whatever group desides to purchase the Cubs, despite his constant criticisms. Every time I hear him on, he's saying something like "I sat down with Mark Cuban and we talked about a deal of mine" or "the new group that purchases the Cubs will need someone who knows how Chicago works" etc. etc. He wants to be that guy.

Can't imagine anyone spending a billion dollars really needs a professional second guesser. That's about his only qualification other than being an overrated color analyst who ESPN didn't want back.
BTW, Mercker is known through out baseball as one of the most honest and decent guys around, Stone is know as a pompous, arrogant prick. Only our weak ass media, print and radio, think this goof is a genius, everyone else thinks he's an asshole.
He was a lot like North in trying to negotiate a new deal and the Cubs called his bluff just as the Score did with North. Both were offered good deals but thought they were the whole show and wanted a lot more.

Take off the Cubbie shades when you read posts.

Look, I've know Ed since he was a Pitcher with the Sox(Stoney too),and yes he is obviously NOT a Cub Fan by a long shot. About 7 or 8 years ago he got some letters and emails from Cub Fans asking why he always rips on the Cubs and what would it take to get him to slow it down some. He said that if several Cub Fans would become organ donars and write him that they have, he would back off on them a bit. He then got what he called 'a ton' of mail from Cub Fans(Sox Fans also)saying that they were indeed becoming donars, which is dear to his heart for a good reason of course. Since then Ed had backed off ripping on Cub Fans as opposed to the past. He talked about this on a Broadcast with Rooney.
That doesn't mean he has become a Cub Fan, that NEVER will happen.

If you gonna make an important decision like being an organ donor based on Ed Farmer not being mean to Cubs fans then you're an idiot.

C'mon Grobber. You always say you love everybody in Chicago media. Besides program directors of course.

Tell us about the people you hate. Tell us about those you think are ass holes.

Well Beardown, there ARE some in the media I can't stand, and who feel the same way about me(I think you might know at least one), but I will wait until a later date or in the book I hope to write in which I'll hold nothing back.Mabey I'll mention them at some point right here on this site. As for Management types, I probably had more trouble with GM's then Program Directors. I got along great with John Gehron,Jack Silver,Mitch Rosen and Ron Gleason to name four. Among GM's, Larry Wirt was one of the nicest guys I've ever dealt with.
No, I don't LOVE everyone in the media as you say. And again, I have my share of detractors!

As for the Organ Donars, if Farmio was able to get some people to do it, then it's worth it. I for one have been a donar since well before Ed had his kidney transplant. One time I got stopped for speeding in the Suburbs about 6 years ago,and the Officer saw that I was a donar, and right or wrong, he let me go because of that!

It's fine to get donors. But the people who based it on Ed Farmers critique of the Cubs are stupid. You shouldn't base it off that. That's all.

We all know you hate Julie Sweika. Bitch got you fired.

DOOOOOOD!. . .

I never heard this one.

You have just GOT to tell this one, G-33.

The GM at the time is who got me out of the Score, and was going to get rid of me no matter what. He never wanted me hired in the first place in 1997,but I was, over his objections. He did not want overnights to be local, and planned to put One On One Sports(now Sporting News Radio)on but everyone else wanted to keep the Station local.
That 'credential' stuff was just a convenient excuse. And my contract ran out 2 days after my last day on the air. Coincidence? I think not!
Danny Mac and others also had issues with the GM.
That other person did not have the power to get anyone fired. Not even close.
Again, allot more stuff comes out later! Stay tuned.

Well, I can't stand Ron Santo as a commentator (as he is far beyond a homer, to a whiner every few years to get his ass into the Hall of Fame) but when it comes to raising awareness to diabetes?

I walk every time I can in his walk for the cure.

That's why I got so pissed at him with his un-awareness for the pink bats/wristbands for Mother's Day a few years back. Breast Cancer is a disease that has claimed not just one, but three women in my life; and if there is a cause that I feel strongly about, its the fight against breast cancer. Santo sounded like a moron when he was going on about "Why are they playing with pink bats? That looks stupid."

Santo is smarter than that, and should of asked off the air what was going on instead of making that a part of his commentary. (He did apologize as soon as he was made aware, but again; goes to show that just because someone hires you to be on the mike that you might want to think before talking.)

Thanks for that story Grobber. Makes sense now knowing that why Farmio got POed over the phonecall with Murph.

That actually would make Murph tolerable. Granted, I'd give the show like 3 weeks before Les loses his mind with the stupid soundbytes.......

Thank god for Ed, without him and his request for donars, were would the world be?

Farmer is a douchebag as a person, this I know from my business dealing with him and other people who had to deal with him directly. I dont care if he hates the cubs, that doesnt matter, if he was a cub fan, he would still be a douchebag.

Since we are sharing stories, ask him about the time he blew off a charity event that he said he would be at because they wouldnt send a limo for him, even though he was like 10 miles from there and had his own car, then went out his way to blast that charity. Farmer is self absorbed prick, who needs to blow his own horn to feel secure about his being, dont like him, never will. Stone and him are a perfect fit, they cant pat each other on the back for doing a bunch of nothing.

For the record, I am signed up to be a organ donor and I didnt need Ed Farmer to convince me to do it, its called being a human being and if he didnt need a kidney, I am sure he would have nothing to do with that chairty also. Kudos for him for doing it, but just like Santo, if those events are not centered around them, they dont want much to do with it.

I'm not an organ donor. I always think bad things will happen to me.

I think, with my luck, I'll still have a chance to live and some doctor will still dig out my organs.

Or it will be as Dennis Miller once joked,

"I don't plan on donating my organs, because I have no fucking clue if I'll need them in the next lifetime. Wouldn't that suck, you have to wait until the guy you gave them do died and see if he'll be willing to give them back. Something tells me he won't be as generous."
