They didn't get the memo that this is never going to happen. It should have a long time ago, but that train left the station. Bears in Arlington Heights won't even help the cause.

Eastbound traffic: NB Wilke west to NW Hwy to Palatine. SB Wilke to central.

Buy now and keep buying. Put all your eggs in this basket.

I can host an open house in Dr. Ken's office for pre/post-games.

I have BelVita breakfast snacks.

Is getting in and out on lake shore drive really that much easier?
Plus I bet a shitload of traffic comes in on the rail instead of driving. No one from the city needs to drive in.

With the money you make from this billboard scheme, you’ll be able to get a few a dem Hormel charcuterie trays from the jewels.

I don't think many people will take the train to Arlington Heights for Bears games. I would guess the majority of ticketholders live on the UP-North or BNSF lines. They're driving.

I live a few blocks away. I'll be walking.

Yeesh, maybe the Bears should just play in a major city instead.

Yeah. The city of Chicago has solved the traffic problem.

Wilke is a one-lane curved (!) road where you need a "residential" light to turn onto Palatine. Whereupon you are then greeted with Arlington Heights gridlock from lights at Arlington Hts Rd and Rt 12.

If we factor Bears fans trying to be clever and using Waze/Apple Maps/Google Maps to get onto Palatine it will be even worse. The north/south lights will be longer as fans try to turn onto Palatine via Windsor/Schoenbeck or Wheeling Rd.

I'm sure NCH would be ecstatic with Bears traffic being routed via Central...

You also have to remember there is a Metra stop there, which city dwellers would likely use to get to/from the game. Unlike the CTA for Cubs games, Metra actually adds extra trains for big events.

You’re talking north of NW Hwy, friend. I thought I said direct NB up 14 - maybe that was another post. Close Wilke NB at that intersection, control the neighborhood entryways off Wilke in the blocks between NW Hwy and Central.

Hospital traffic benefits from almost wide open lanes up & down Wilke and Central (depending on direction). That combo allows almost unobstructed traffic for ambulances. Traffic officers could conceivably control the cars in the event of an emergency. NCH will be fine.

Boom. You’re welcome. Small college towns deal with this shit all the time absent an expressway and commuter rail taking a meaningful share of the traffic.

I highly doubt the neighborhoods would be fine with being "controlled"

My parents are already vehemently opposed and they're north of Palatine; not even in the directly affected areas. Arlington Hts is full of the neighborhood types who'll fight this tooth and nail. What else they gotta do? They live in the suburbs, y'know?

Let them fight it. The land is already a sports stadium. The only thing they could stop is an entertainment district.

I think the neighborhoods would grow to appreciate keeping NFL traffic off their streets a few weekends a year.

My quick plan may be wrong/dumb, but there are ways to do this that wouldn’t harm the surrounding areas. Hyper local concerns are just that and over time, it’ll all work out. I’d focus more on fighting a permanent casino that a football stadium.

That's hilarious. Fight the stadium! 8 fucking days a year it might be hard to get to your favorite diner for your early bird special. For that, we dont want your millions in revenues and tax dollars.

Goofy bastard.

Isn't Green Bay in the middle of a residential neighborhood that sells their front yards for parking?

Look, not sure if you're familiar with the area. It's slightly different than the sticks.

Your argument is an argument against a stadium. 8 days of usage versus a mixed-used entertainment district generating commerce on a daily basis via property taxes, sales taxes and permanent jobs.

I wonder which residents prefer?

Stick to embarrassing yourself in the DeSantis thread or go back to usual crayons up the nose. Allowing yourself to leak your zero IQ thoughts in other threads isn't ideal for anyone.

No. I'm not well aware of that. Jokes about 8 days aside you're talking concerts, super bowls, rodeos, monster truck shows, circus events. All kinds of big time revenue possibilities.
I'd hope your parents in Inverness or kildeer or whatever north of palatine means will mind their own damn business and stay out of what happens in Arlington heights and enjoy the benefits of additional revenue and tax dollars. Maybe they can rent out their house for 2 weeks at $4k to tourists when the superbowl comes to town.

They grew up in Arlington Hts and now live there too ya nitwit. Between Palatine and Hintz. Hence I grew up in...Arlington Hts.

These imaginary events that are too small to be held in an NFL stadium aren't going to happen. They couldn't even fill the Allstate
