Nice win, and pitching. But no hitters don't mean much anymore, they're so prevalent. J-Hey must have an angel looking down helping him with 2 cheap hit rollers to the right side. Arrieta has to be pulled early the first sign of a collapse by him tonight.

I thought they would be swept by the Dodgers, good shit. Doesn't count as a no hitter. That Dodgers lineup has alot of issues though(outside of Munsy). Seager is always hurt..Bellinger is off the 'roids.

It's a combined no hitter. Nobody really cares.

It’s not a “huge” deal. But it’s cool and a highlight of the season thus far. In part, because the bullpen has been so lights out. It’s a nice accomplishment for those guys who are the collective MVPs of the season

"It doesn't count" in terms of it will not appear on the list of official no hitters/perfect games thrown in MLB. Its a fun story for a time and definitely a highlight. Its more an oddity than an accomplishment kind of.

I think it says more about the Dodgers lack of showing up for a game than it does the dominance of Cub pitching...and I'd say the same thing if it was the White Sox or any other team boasting the "hey our pitching staff threw a combined No-Hitter".

An aside, this is also another reason NOT to start extra innings with a runner on 2nd. For example, lets say the Cubs had 0 runs through 9 innings last night which is completely plausible. Now you're going to give a team who hasn't mustered up a hit a free baserunner in scoring position? Bunk.
