I like Johnson but he is not ready to be a lead of a CB group. I have no idea what they saw in Vildor that gave them the confidence to hand him a starting position. I didn't think Duke Shelly was good in the time he played last year.

There really is no fixing the position at this point. They have to hope the pass rush is great or these players take a huge leap from last year. It can happen, as all were 1-2 year players but I wouldn't bank on it

I think he will be an NFL player down the line. He isn't ready to be rostered right now. I think they know other teams know this as well so they have no fear exposing him to the market, then signing him to the practice squad

A league source said the Bears are expected to place Trevathan on IR, which adds context to the team’s decision to keep seven inside linebackers on the 53-man roster.

Very small sample size, but based on listening to interviews with Trevathan and Devin Hester I have developed the "Clawmaster quick twitch/intellect Theory".

My theory goes something like this, people that are blessed with an overabundance of fast twitch muscle fibers (basically genetic freaks) are able to outrun everyone as kids, so they never have to develop the ability to think through problems like the rest of us that cannot outrun everyone. They just take a toy and run away, no need to talk to other people or share things, they can just outrun everything. It continues in their athletic careers as they leverage the ability to outrun/outjump everyone into lucrative NFL/NBA careers.

Like people that are genetically blessed with appealing physical appearances they can rely on their physical gifts early in life, no need to learn or develop intellectually, opportunities are made available to them based on physical gifts.
