I agree. What this .500 team needs is a .500 coach.

Jeff Fisher's still available, if the goal is to go 8-9 every year.

Lombardi was correct in his initial assessment of Doug Pederson. 2017 was all Frank Reich's offense, Pederson along for the ride. Combination of Eagles playing a weak sister regular season schedule in 2017 and then the chips falling favorably to the Eagles in the playoffs---getting to play Atlanta in the divisional round with Atlanta playing their 4th road game in a row in 3 different time zones; the Keenum-Vikings horseshoeing their way to a win over the Saints and getting properly destroyed by the Eagles in Philly--before Belichick pulled the rug out from under his own defense in the super bowl.

Since 1970, the Bears are 390-401-1. A .500 coach would be an upgrade. The Bears are the Tennessee Volunteers of the NFL.

Pretty darn close to .500 for a 50+year sample size. Wonder how the Bengals, another team that feels forever .500, turned out.

I saw an article today that Russell Wilson might still want to be traded. If you're the next GM of the Bears, do you trade for Russell Wilson? I'm assuming you include Fields along with various draft picks.

of course you trade for Wilson (at least if it's this year or last). Don't see the Seahawks taking a QB prospect who is dead last in the league in every statistical category in exchange for a bag of balls, let alone a HoF QB. Plus if you're the Seahawks or GB you kick your disgruntled franchise QB to the other side of the bracket for the playoffs.
