I'm sick of the fucking talk. Fire Pace. Fine. Fire Nagy. Fine. Keep them both. Fine. Keep one of them. Fine. I don't give a shit.

Bottom line is if Justin Fields is great or not. If he's not, then I'll worry about the next kid QB we draft. That's all that matters in this fucking NFL. Do you have a great QB or do you not?

Seems like the only thing that keeps the NFL interesting is gambling. It is like you say. Either you have a QB or you don't and the defense has to play with one arm tied behind their back.

There's no Walter Paytons. There's no Earl Campbells. Hell, there's no Roger Craigs.

My thought is that fantasy football and gambling are what's ruining it for the rest of us. No one cares about a team except their own fantasy team or what one player scored for them. Most of the advertised/discussed betting is score-related or prop bets.

I don't have the time to excel at either, so I don't participate in either. Go ahead and cancel me now.

I can very easily watch the 3 pm games and various night games even without a vested interest.

but the Bears are making me feel hopeless again. Fields is that glimmer of light but I feel that no matter who they hire, that person will mess him up.

If the draft was held today Fields would be drafted no worse than #3. I'm not sure how great he'll be yet, but I'm fairly confident he's a solid NFL starter. He'll be your favorite Bears quarterback in a year or so.

What say you?

Lance, Jones maybe go before Fields. Chase also probably shoots up the boards in a redraft. You can't say for sure Fields is #2 or #3 in a redraft.

No one takes Lance over Fields. The 49ers are trying to hide him now. I could see Jones going to the 49ers at 3. Of course I can't say for sure, but I think Fields would be playing for the Jets or possibly the Jaguars. Chase is probably a Falcon if they don't draft a Wilson or Lance.

And outside of the 2nd half "almost comeback" against the Steelers, Justin Fields has been pretty bad too. All he has accomplished is that he's not as bad as Zach Wilson.

His numbers suck, but I think the eye test tells a different story. He hasn't been worse than any quarterback except Mac Jones. All of the other quarterbacks have played easier schedules AND spent the offseason working with the starters.

1. Michah Parsons
2. Creed Humphrey
3. Rashawn Slater
4. Ja'Marr Chase
5. DeVonta Smith/Kyle Pitts

None of these QB's so far is worth a top 10 1st round pick, let alone a 12th overall + a top 5 1st round pick.

DeShaun Watson was great and the Texans were not. So this isn’t always true.

It’s too early to worry about Fields imo. The fact that he’s shown flashes here and there is a good sign. With Mitch, we got consistent mediocrity and average play with really bad sprinkled in more often than not so it was hard to see it with Mitch.. with Fields arm talent is obvious at this point which is good. That said, just about everything needs work with him and that’s going to require good coaching and putting talent around him.

So, I’m not worried as of right now. If we’re halfway thru season 2 with this same evaluation then yeah, it might be time to start admitting some realities.

I'm excited about Fields too, he for sure has more arm talent than Mitch, but the numbers (and much of the eye test outside of the Pitt game) says he has been awful. I know patience is required for rookie QB's but I was hoping for a Kyler Murray type rookie season and he hasn't even been a fraction of that.

I give him a pass because of Nagy.

If he still looks like this in week 8, 9, or 10 next season under a new coach? Bust.

I really only worry about ball security with Fields. He likes to fumble. Of course he will have to get better with progressions and accuracy, but he has shown improvement with when to run and made some top notch throws.

He understands what he's seeing a lot better than he did when he first took over. He's still to indecisive at times and his accuracy can be problematic on throws under 20 yards.

I think Fields will ultimately surpass (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky but they are basically having the same rookie seasons so far.

The stats says (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was far better. Especially when it comes to protecting the ball.

Wasnt it pretty much accepted this team was destined for 7-10 or 8-9? Nobody had these chumps in the playoffs and everybody agreed they needed to clean house last year..no surprises this season, no expctations unmet.
