Pace will likely be retained...Jeff Fisher would be a very Bears-ey hire.

Did mark tressman leave his toolbox of concepts somewhere at halas hall? Maybe we can let nagy borrow some ideas? Why doesnt anyone think of these things, you gotta utilize the assets you accure over time or they lose value due to natural inflation

Or any successful college head coach. Who has made a viable transition in the past 20 years? Harbaugh and Carroll are all I can think of. And Carroll was a returning NFL guy who already had some modicum of success as an NFL head man.

Yeah, he'll be an interesting follow in that the Cardinals were terrible in 2019, average in 2020, and are dominant this year.

The Bears are due to make a 'in the Bears family' hire. Why not hire Ron Rivera and give him a say in personnel. He could hardly be worse than Pace and Sundays would be a significant upgrade.

I echo gd's thoughts on ST coaches. The head coach is not a coordinator. He's a manager of coaches and personnel and strategy.

Toub, I think it's fair to say, has been an exceptional ST coach in taking advantage of rules and strategy. ST coaches also have to manage all personnel. I think it is a mini-head coach position and he has excelled and been through a few very successful organizations.

I think he is a viable candidate and would relish the opportunity. He's like Bruce Arians - give an old lifer an opportunity.

Toub had to have a handle on both the offense and the defense. Special teams is a major part of both. He'd be a very solid head coach and could manage both offensive and defensive coordinators since he's always been well schooled in both schemes.
