That's because the game is in LA, and that's a prime time game for them.

Why not an afternoon game is what i am saying .Its a weekend !!!.MLB wonders why they are losing fans its shit like this .They can't work a schedule to save their lives .This is what you get when only 1 station carries the games .I understand its 7pm in L.A. ,what about kids look at the Boston game starting at 10pm Boston time ????What parent is gonna let the kid up that late , not even Boston fans are that nuts . Weird start time for game 1. 5:30pm. TBS does it there way. They pay big money for this.

5:30pm is tough. The sun is gonna be a bitch at that time. The right fielders are gonna be in trouble. Who knows? An error cuz of the sun might turn game one.

Remember...TV dictates start times for playoff games, and TBS Sports has big $$$$ to broadcast the entire first round of the MLB Playoffs, not to mention the American League Championship Series. Also, isn't it ironic that Joe Torre has his new team, the Dodgers, in the playoffs in his first season filling out the lineup card while his former team the Yankees are watching the postseason at home for the first time since 1993?

Beardown-you are right about the shadows, but they will be the same for both teams and the Cubs outfielders should be more used to them. Right field can be very tough around that time of day. Plus, the temperature are going to be in the 50's by game time. The scores in these games may be low. Being able to execute on a bunt or hit and run, to manufacture runs, may be the difference.

In a 7 game series, he will go at least twice. Only way he goes once is if the Cubs sweep, and I don't see that as very likely. You're also assuming the milwaukee series will go 5 games.
