That's because the game is in LA, and that's a prime time game for them.

Why not an afternoon game is what i am saying .Its a weekend !!!.MLB wonders why they are losing fans its shit like this .They can't work a schedule to save their lives .This is what you get when only 1 station carries the games .I understand its 7pm in L.A. ,what about kids look at the Boston game starting at 10pm Boston time ????What parent is gonna let the kid up that late , not even Boston fans are that nuts . Hopfully someone will look at the numbers and wake up ,I hope they get a lower share than a Seinfield rerun .Yeah way tyo go Bud and you got Cubs vs Sox on a weekday .Morons I tell yah all Morons . I wanna go to Seligs house for Festivus for the airing of the grievances

Plus, a game such as Boston vs. Anaheim will probably be played in the afternoon. So now we can all go to bed and sleep well tonight and not have to worry about the suffering children of Boston.

What about the fact that the kids would have to turn off their Wii first before they could watch the game.

I don't want to see Santana twice in a five game series. I think he'd the best pitcher on the NL side of the playoffs. I'd love to face the Mets in a seven game series but not a five.

Pitching is important throughout the playoffs, but starting pitching is most important in the first round. This matchup is perfect. The Dodgers have no real #1 starter and their staff is, on the whole, a cut below the Cubs staff. Compare this to facing NY, where you're automatically saying that two of the games are going to be real struggles, even if the other three really favor the Cubs.

I agree with this analysis 1000%. I believe the Cubs will win this series with little trouble.

I see no reason why they should not easily make the World Series. They are the best team in the National League.

The Phillies concern me the most in the NL. Hamels, Cub-Killer Moyer, Howard, Rollins, Utley, Burrell. . .

Sabathia is scheduled to start game 1 on Wednesday. His arm is going to FALL OFF, a la Mark Prior.

I heard on AM1000 that he is going game 2 on short rest, and will go game 5 if needed.

Weird start time for game 1. 5:30pm. TBS does it there way. They pay big money for this.

5:30pm is tough. The sun is gonna be a bitch at that time. The right fielders are gonna be in trouble. Who knows? An error cuz of the sun might turn game one.

Remember...TV dictates start times for playoff games, and TBS Sports has big $$$$ to broadcast the entire first round of the MLB Playoffs, not to mention the American League Championship Series. Also, isn't it ironic that Joe Torre has his new team, the Dodgers, in the playoffs in his first season filling out the lineup card while his former team the Yankees are watching the postseason at home for the first time since 1993?

Thats great news. Then, if the Brewers are fortunate enough to make it to the NLCS, the Cubs will only be likely to face him once in the series.

Beardown-you are right about the shadows, but they will be the same for both teams and the Cubs outfielders should be more used to them. Right field can be very tough around that time of day. Plus, the temperature are going to be in the 50's by game time. The scores in these games may be low. Being able to execute on a bunt or hit and run, to manufacture runs, may be the difference.

In a 7 game series, he will go at least twice. Only way he goes once is if the Cubs sweep, and I don't see that as very likely. You're also assuming the milwaukee series will go 5 games.

Thursday night game starting at 8:30pm will likely see temps in the 40s by the 2nd half of the game.

I say Cubs in five.... but LA will take a lead some time in the first 3 games. (PANIC!!!) I do not like the Dodgers options for starting pitchers in game 3/4.
