is he referencing last year or now

It sounded like he didn't think Jenkins was in shape for the minicamp. He thought that Jenkins' toughness was an issue last year when he left a game after a few plays then came back to play the following week without having any issues noted on the injury list.

Interesting. What is he basing this one? Has got to be around him or is this like leak from a coach?

That's a good question. I think this is something the coaching staff or Poles wanted him to say, but he probably believes it, too. Incidentally, Olin has also expressed skepticism about Jenkins' toughness, basically calling him a bigmouth.

He did look totally out of shape last year.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt given the back issues.

That said, first sign of weakness next year and he’s back to being a short armed nerd.

Maybe Jenkins needs to train with Olin for a couple of weeks.

Yep! That way he can get overpowered by everyone just like Bars and Mustipher.

If you recall, I hated the pick last year. They should see if they can still spin him off for a 3rd-4th rounder at least...tell teams he doesn't fit a zone blocking scheme, that's all.

He'll be fine at RT if he can stay on the field.

Thayer's comments on Jenkins start at about 10:50 here: https://www.audacy.com/670thescore/podcasts/the-mully-haugh-show-on-670-the-score-64/tom-thayer-liked-bears-picks-in-2nd-round-of-nfl-draft-1400614590.

I don't think Poles likes Jenkins. He wanted athletes over size. Now Bears mouthpieces are going after him directly.

Yep, Thayer clearly got the "blessing" from the FO to go after Jenkins.

It will be interesting to see how the Bears start to attack Fields in preparation for their selection of a QB in the first round of the 2023 draft.

Not a leader. Immature. Small hands. Turnover prone.

They're going to draft his former WR if he shows some level of competence.

I would say they already started by not addressing the WR and Oline positions.

The days of Hub talking about Jenkins and Borom as, "bookend starters at tackle for the next 10 years", seem so long ago.
