First of all, the person who posted as Mike Ogulnick isn't Mike Ogulnick because I am. As much as few will believe this, this is my first post on this site in several months. None of those posts defending me were me.
Having said that, I do appreciate those who enjoyed my work, and even those who didn't. Some of you got a little vindictive and personal, but that's ok.
I am moving to Dallas because this is an incredible opportunity for me. I am one of 30 people in the world who are part of a major league baseball broadcast team. You can draw your own conclusions, but I'm pretty proud of that.
I'll miss Chicago tremendously, since I've lived here all my life, but I'm looking forward to a fresh start in the number 5 market in the country.
Tick...tick...tick...I'm broadcasting for a major league baseball team.
Let's take this point by point, Mikey.
1. When you say you had not posted on the site in a number of months, you are lying. I would have more respect for you if you actually admitted what you had done.
2. When you say some of us got vindictive and personal, look at yourself in the mirror. Some of your posts were vindictve and personal as well.
3. You are moving to Dallas because no station in Chicago will hire you. No one cried when you left 1000. You certainly weren't going to be hired at The Score, and I don't think Sporting News would have had you back, considering the tantrum you apparently threw on the way out. It was either Dallas or getting a real job.
4. You will miss Chicago tremendously, but it will not miss you.
5. Are the Rangers really a big league ballclub? Good luck keeping fans interested when they fall out of contention in June.
Finally, some predictions. Mike will get bored with the Rangers and bored with doing updates on a low rated news station by July. He will start positng on the Dallas area message boards that he should be hired on either The Ticket or the ESPN station because he's the best thing to hit Dallas since the Cowboys Cheerleaders. He will alienate everyone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and be let go at the end of the season. His biggest problem will be having to actually learn a team not named the Cubs. Unless Mike is right and Richie Zisk still plays for the Rangers, along with Jim Kern, Buddy Bell, and some ther guys Mike remebers from his baseball card collection.
That is all. Good night and get out Mike.
That's the pot calling the kettle black. I think I know who you are and if I'm right, you're a no-talent ignorant piece of crap. 1000 really scraped the bottom of the barrel when they hired you. Mike is better and smarter than you. Always has been and always will be. Mike is far better off not having to deal with low-life scum like you.
