I'll feel better if they play well and lose at the end. The only game I need them to win is against the Packers.

This is shaping up to look like the last couple of years.

However when the season ends, we will have a GM with a plan, and a clue, with high picks and plenty of cash.

Much better then no cash to spend, no high draft picks and an absolute fucking dunce in charge who became brain damaged by his chemicals from his copious amounts of hair product.

Completely agree. I'm genuinely optimistic about the future of this team for the first time in over a decade.

Agreed. I acknowledge Poles looked like a goof in Free Agency, but he cleared cap space like he needed to do and he's showing he values draft picks. I can live with that for the first season. It doesn't mean I think he's a good GM, but I'd rather see this team than the shit fest from last year. We'll learn a lot more about Poles come next season. They'll have options. Pace was incredibly careless and clearly out of his league.

You build a team from the line, out. Poles understands this.

Three for $30M on Scantling? Thank God he didn't do that.

(Devils Advocate) Lucas Patrick is looking like an awful signing and the best lineman is the one he inherited and tried to run out of camp this summer.

Counterpoint: The offense scored on both series Patrick was in, and Fields didn't have to worry about Mustipher throwing the game.

None of this matters. Fields fumbled four times, Bears are fucked

The value of that particular win, in that situation, is far greater than whatever theoretical advantage of "a higher draft pick" which is vague. Confidence is an amazing thing.

This isn't quite what it seems. Because they are 0-2 in the division, and 1-4 in the conference, they actually are #13 in the NFC.

Should the random craziness that is the NFL favor the Bears and they somehow manage to win 9 games, the losses to the Giants and WFT will keep them out of the playoffs.

TRUTH

GM's make good and bad calls on picks, as well as FA's. And some times get lucky as well.

Your condemning of MANY of his picks after less than 5 NFL games speaks to the fact that you probably coach 10 year old kids, and think you are fucking Vince Lombardi because your team finished above .500.

The Bears won yesterday, and stomped the Pats as well.

Give us all a rest and STFU for just one day please.

Eberflus's defense (as the Colt's Def. Coord. last year) beat the Pats last year as well.

The Cowboys are sort of paper tigers, no? They have decent/big names, like Lamb, but in the end I think they get by on defense. Elliot is nothing special (Pollard is probably better) and Dak, while just one game in after his return, is overrated imo.

Their defense is legit. Fields would be wise not to hold the ball for 8 seconds unless he wants Parsons on top of him.

Reality is that we should not be concerned as much with the Bears W-L record. The reality is that we are seeing a pretty solid foundation being laid down by Eberflus and Getsy. Couple this with the cap space and draft picks that the Bears have for next season, along with the shambles of the NFC North, and we see legit reasons to have some hope for a good Bears team in the not too distant future.

Yes, their defense is talented and well coached. They are in the top 3 for DVOA. This is going to be a very interesting test for Fields.

Bears beat a Matt Patricia, Joe Judge and Belichick JR led team. It was obvious going in the Bears would beat such an incompetently coached team and that's what happened.

You're both dumb...that is textbook example of a BSB, all he had to do was lead with the hands. Shouldn't have been an ejection though. Flag was either from umpire or referee as down judge and line judge are taking the goal line.

You can't block at all heading towards your own goal line. Only heading upfield.

Not quite...

It is a foul if a player initiates a block when his path is toward or parallel to his own end line and makes forcible contact to his opponent with his helmet, forearm, or shoulder.

https://www.footballzebras.com/2020/12/ ... r-illegal/

As I said above, if he leads with the hands it is legal...

Ok. Thanks for the clarification.

Yep. Last thing Id do is sign a middling receiver ( or even all pro ) right now as they are the first ones to start whining when they dont get their touches ( which they will be because the qb cant get them the ball) and disrupt everything theyre trying to build. The receivers can wait. Build the lines is the way to go.
