This is shaping up to look like the last couple of years.

Agreed. I acknowledge Poles looked like a goof in Free Agency, but he cleared cap space like he needed to do and he's showing he values draft picks. I can live with that for the first season. It doesn't mean I think he's a good GM, but I'd rather see this team than the shit fest from last year. We'll learn a lot more about Poles come next season. They'll have options. Pace was incredibly careless and clearly out of his league.

The value of that particular win, in that situation, is far greater than whatever theoretical advantage of "a higher draft pick" which is vague. Confidence is an amazing thing.

This isn't quite what it seems. Because they are 0-2 in the division, and 1-4 in the conference, they actually are #13 in the NFC.

Should the random craziness that is the NFL favor the Bears and they somehow manage to win 9 games, the losses to the Giants and WFT will keep them out of the playoffs.

GM's make good and bad calls on picks, as well as FA's. And some times get lucky as well.

The Cowboys are sort of paper tigers, no? They have decent/big names, like Lamb, but in the end I think they get by on defense. Elliot is nothing special (Pollard is probably better) and Dak, while just one game in after his return, is overrated imo.

Reality is that we should not be concerned as much with the Bears W-L record. The reality is that we are seeing a pretty solid foundation being laid down by Eberflus and Getsy. Couple this with the cap space and draft picks that the Bears have for next season, along with the shambles of the NFC North, and we see legit reasons to have some hope for a good Bears team in the not too distant future.

Yep. Last thing Id do is sign a middling receiver ( or even all pro ) right now as they are the first ones to start whining when they dont get their touches ( which they will be because the qb cant get them the ball) and disrupt everything theyre trying to build. The receivers can wait. Build the lines is the way to go.
