I guess played well is a relative term. Fields threw for 151 yds. He has thrown for less than 200 yds in 7 of 8 games (208 vs Vikings). He’s a great runner but that doesn’t cut it in todays NFL.

Look at him from the Lamar perspective. 150 plus whatever he had on the ground. 200+ all purpose yards, the TDs, etc. I'm not saying I'm in awe of it but that's what he is. The run threat opens up the pass.

Of course his running ability is a plus but they are already a good running team. The problem is when they get behind. It sounds good in theory, but so far that run threat hasn’t seemed to open up the pass.

It might. He’s just coming into his own as a runner. That helped the passing game today and he did a much better job of taking care of the ball.

Narrative coming in was that Parsons would murder him. I think he showed pretty well all things considered.

If you're gashing the defense via the run you're going to have less passing yards. Big picture, they had 390 yards of offense not including neg yards for sacks. Fields accounted for 210 or so of those yards and 21 points. 29 points on Dallas in Dallas is a significant stat. We haven't seen 390 and 29 points in seemingly forever.
