if you don't like Fields or Bryce why not trade Fields for a top 6 pick, trade back from #1 to get #4 and other picks, sign Carr, select Carter at #4 or whatever and Anderson at #5 or whatever and move forward with the other picks. I'd def do it in Madden.

I kinda like Fields, I've been a firm believer in Carr sucks, I call him carrbage.

I like Carrbage
I don't care where he goes....he's not the answer to any team's QB problems

I think he's got everything you want that can't be coached, tough mentally and physically.. pocket poise, doesn't seem to panic and processes the info quickly n calmly.

Todd Monken the new OC for Baltimore, Front office didn't consult Lamar Jackson ( I wouldn't either) pretty much guarantees they won't resign him( smart move)

The reports I’ve heard all said he was involved to some extent. And Baltimore can’t be so stupid as not to sign him. Harbaugh still owes him his job. And the fans would revolt.

I'm sure Ozzie wants to sign him..just not sign him for what Jackson wants. If my option was trade him- release him or give him 450 million dollars.. I'd lett him walk.

He's going to be slotted in a few ticks below Burrow. I don't think Burrow is getting $450M

Burrow will take a team friendly deal, Jackson won't.. he saw what Watson got, he wants that.. or more.

Not true Nas. Cinci signed 3 free agent O-line starters before this past season. Unfortunately for them 3 linemen went down at the end of the season.

Unlike Cincinnati, Baltimore has never bothered to get Lamar actually solid pro WRs and Burrow needs Higgins and his guy Chase paid. At least for their next deals. Of course if the idiot Paul Brown and his useless daughter running the team would have to move the franchise if they all aren’t resigned.

The Ravens are focused on fielding a great defense. Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews are supposed to carry the offense. It's ridiculous.

he isnt a $45 million man but I dont fault him at all for playing the giants as hard as he can. He knows he isnt getting more than the going rate for the franchise tag.

He has no reason to sign a contract for less than $40 million a year though unless he thinks he will fail.

Sure he does, if he doesn't want to get franchised and potentially exposed next year. This may be his one and only time to strike it rich with a multi-year longer term deal. He definitely doesn't want to get franchised.

They used to call him Danny Dimes; now you can call him Danny Grant's. If they franchise him, they'll lose flexibility to sign Barkley or tag Barkley.

They would be dumb to pay Barkley too. He's got about 1-2 years left on those knees.

As I said, unless he thinks he is going to fail next year and the Giants are going to let him walk he shouldn't accept less than $40 million. If the Giants tag him the year after he'll get a combined $71 million for 2 years and then he likely gets a massive deal or he gets $56 million for a year and then is a free agent. That's a total of $42 million a year for 3 years or $35 million for 2 years. For a 3 year contract then why accept anything less than $40 million?

one way or the other he is getting paid this year, but the Giants aren't paying him 40 mil a year and he knows that. They will simply franchise him if they can't reach a deal. I think they will though. The negotiations are all part of the game.

In hindsight they probably should have picked up his 5th year option, I think the 5th year would have been a bit cheaper than the franchise tag. You probably wanna see one more year with him under Daboll before you fully commit.

The point is why wouldn't he just let them franchise tag him instead of signing a deal for $35 million a season? He gets $3 million extra this year, an equal amount of money after two years, and he either becomes a free agent after year 2 or makes $56 million for year 3 and he wouldn't be locked in to year 4 at $35 million either. The only way it costs him money is if he is terrible.

Because if that is he demand the Giants will simply franchise him, and then the threat of regression or injury could cost him. Daniel Jones had a good year, I am sure the Giants want him back and I am sure he wants to be back, but they arent signing for $40 mill a year. They are just coming out of salary cap hell and have other important players to pay and roster holes to fill. We will see what happens in the next couple of weeks.

agreed, but it was the right call to decline the option. It was the right call to pick up Dexter Lawrence's option. They need to lock him up, and Andrew Thomas. I'd rather see the Giants sign Jones for a few years and franchise Barkley. Barkley is a really good player but I'd be very worried about injury with him.

The point is that there isn't much reason for him to take a contract for around the current franchise tag number unless he thinks he is going to blow it next year and get cut.

Perhaps that is his plan. He is a confident player, and maybe his play is to simply shoot for the moon and accept the tag if it comes to it knowing he could hit the jackpot next year. My guess is that he wants to be a part of what the Giants seem to be doing after a few years of turmoil, and he would want to sign a sensible 3- or 4-year deal. Maybe not. Who knows. What I do know is that in part of a negotiation, of course he is going to aim high and the giants are going to aim low and they will meet somewhere in the middle. the giants own the trump card of using the tag.

Again, there are a couple very good reasons - the threat of injury, the threat of regression on a team without many weapons, and the fact he hasn't historically been that good.

I don't think he fired his agent to ask the Giants for a "sensible 3 or 4 year deal" that would pay him far less than what he would even get with the franchise tag for those 3 years.
