Spiegel is orgasmic, likely because this means Fields is the guy.

Moore’s contract is perfectly reasonable and won’t really stop them from spending money

You weren't getting a #1 WR in free agency.

No, but you could have grabbed one in the draft.. this is supposed to be a rebuild. Poles is treating this like he’s 1 player away.

Not only that, but..

Traded for Claypool, has Mooney, drafted Velus Jones (basically special teams ace for Tenn that occasionally played WR.. who was also 25 when they drafted him)

Early signs point to Poles not knowing what the hell he’s doing. As a fan, I hope for the best.. but I’m planning for the worst

moore already has a long term deal in place at a reasonable price

just researched it and that is great asset.

They probably would have paid that kind of money to Jakobi Meyers.

I'm just not sure about more. Every great receiver is a diva, so that's what you get and you live with it. Give me 2019 DJ Moore and I'm happy. He just seemed less and less team oriented

Doesn’t matter. A rookie would be cheaper while adding another talent to your roster. Look at it this way, if you’re going to trade the pick for extra picks.. that veteran you traded for takes one of those picks away.. his contract also subtracts a potential free agent you may have otherwise signed.

It’s bad value, but that’s my take. Poles did not get the best value for that #1.. especially moving it this far out from the draft..

Bears gave up a 1st to get Fields at 11, Bears get at least another first if someone trades up to get Levis

You’re absolutely correct he’s over allocating resources to the position, especially when they don’t know if the QB can throw the football.

He just turned one player into five……if he was acting like he was one player away, he would have kept the number one overall pick.

How to team friendly contracts for #1 receivers usually end?

It’s hilarious listening to these guys saying Moore stats aren’t great because he hasn’t had a good qb…well guess who’s throwing to him now?

That’s fine. I think he could have gotten more, and remained in better position to take an elite talent this year. But like the Mitch trade, all I can do is speculate

He gave up waaaay too early

bears have so much cap space they'll have to spend stupid to spend it all. rookies dont always hit. they are still getting a good/great player at 9. especially if 4 qb's go before their pick

you can track fields vs hurts first two years and find them to be pretty similar. here's hoping fields makes the year 3 jump with his new #1 WR like hurts did

The Eagles still had the leftovers of a super bowl winning roster when they started with this current regime.. Poles doesn’t have that luxury

Parkins essentially saying it’s on Fields now to produce, as he has four good weapons at WR/TE.

They almost have to go O-line at #9 if they stay.. unless they cash out as much as they can in free agency

what if they find their pace and someone gives up their 23 and 24 first to take the last qb at 9? that'd be fun

Seems like Orlando Brown should be a no brainer.

This will be an interesting thread to bump after a couple years. I think Poles flinched, now I’ll sit back, hope for the best, and see what happens

I’m wondering about this too.. part of why I mentioned cashing out in FA in a prior post.

Carolina is poised to be a playoff team next year.

Moore demands 100+ targets or he openly pouts...and he drops half the balls thrown to him

So he’s your typical wide receiver.

Feels like a panic trade. Have to get more than one additional first for the first pick of the draft if your sending it this early.

I hope DJ Moore is cool with blocking and running sprints. Should get some cardio ans resistance training every Sunday. Beats having to pay for a gym membership I guess.

My first reaction is not enough for dropping to 9. I agree with dolphin that it should have been a higher 2nd rounder than 61. But I am really happy with getting a first next year. 2 first round picks in next years draft is going to be really nice.
