Me too. I fear drafting a bust - Williams seems to have the same holding on to the ball issue as Fields - but I don't fear losing Fields.

Yeah, some of the scouting reports detailing Williams' shortcomings are almost carbon copies of CFMB posts criticizing Fields.

Outside of his diva tendencies, this is why I don't want Caleb. He's short and he reminds me of Fields. It scares me.

I think I'd let the evaluation process become finer regarding Williams.

I don't know if they'll be accurate, but I was saying the same about Caleb last year. He's become a diva since then. I'm not sure a diva quarterback works.

They all become divas, you just to delay it as long as possible.

Depends on your definition of diva. I have no use for pouting QBs.

Poor Mitch. All he had to do was be even more ineffective than he already was and he'd be the most beloved QB in Bears history. Fields beat him to it.

Could you imagine what it would be like if Fields was 29-21 as a starter with two playoff appearances rather than 10-28 with no playoff appearances?

And (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky had as much bad luck as Fields. (Double doink, Wims dropping sure TD in playoff game etc.)

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky also did not have DJ Moore catching passes

I mean , it wouldve been really stoopid to move on from Marcus Mariotta so I guess Fields is staying .

didn't Mariota make the playoffs and complete a pass to himself defeating Alex Smith era Andy Reid's Chiefs in his first 3 seasons? He was at the end of his rookie deal status / year 5 when TN went to the AFC Championship game against Mahomes and lost.

Fields is at around 6674 yards thrown for his career.

Stroud threw for 61% of that total during his rookie year.

Stroud with 107 yards and 10 points after a quarter during a playoff game against a top 5 defense. That's only 55 yards and 7 points fewer than Fields threw against the same team in a regular season game.

236 yards and 3tds at halftime.. missing his best wr for the 8th straight game.

B & L have elevated Bobby Slowik to god status. If Fields only had him he'd be flourishing just like Stroud.

Did The Great 312 have him as can’t miss? Hard to remember all of your God awful predictions.

350 yards and 5tds by halftime would have blown me away.--Ryan Poles

Keep on mind the Texans wanted Bryce Young too.

Only proves that it's a crapshoot. Talent is the easy part of the process. The brain wiring? That's a whole different animal that's hard to quantify.

Agreed. It’s why I think watching them play matters much more than how they look at the combine or in private workouts. It’s probably the best thing you have to go off of, and it’s not a certainty

from the NFL.com draft prospects page for Fields...has he improved upon any of these?

Weaknesses

Needs to improve pocket mobility for clean launch points.

Below-average feel for edge pressure, running himself into pressure points.

Field vision is average in face of the blitz.

Missed open blitz beaters in the middle of the field against Indiana.

Gradual operation time prevents expedited release.

Needs to release ball earlier on anticipatory throws.

Needs to improve eye manipulation as a pro.

Stagnant eyes invite coverage to the passing party.

Forces receivers to slow for deep throws.

Pet spin move as runner got him clocked against Clemson.

For the most part no. That’s why it’s time to move on.
