I haven't been able to study analyst appraisals systematically, but anecdotally at least it seems like many scouts rank Daniels as the best passer in the draft.

I didn't think he saw the field well. I saw a kid who had a lot of time to throw and that was usually looking to run when he did move in the pocket. Unlike Fields, he's a straight line runner. He's not breaking any tackles and he has the body of Danny Parkins. He has a great arm and amazing straight line speed. I'm just not sure if that's enough to be successful in the NFL. Also, I don't see competitor when I look in his eyes.

Warner likes him. Simms has Daniels #2 after Caleb. Warner will upload a video about Daniels soon. Simms will upload his rankings today.

I watched Daniels quite a bit when he played for ASU. He was electric. Throws bombs. Frustratingly inaccurate on some short-medium targets. Sloooww processor. Best win was beating a #6 ranked Oregon team. I remember thinking this Justin Herbert guy stinks  ! Jayden obviously turned from a 4th/5th Round pick into a 2nd/3rd Round pick instantly after transferring to LSU. And now here we are. Look what a real football program can do for a guy. He is a stick though. He weighed somewhere in the 150s when he first got to Tempe. Who knows what he’s at now. I’m rooting for the kid but my guess is he shouldn’t be selected where he gets selected in April.

amazing what a couple of first round prospects at WR can do for a qb

Yeah, I think that gets lost in the analysis. He's probably going to have a WR drafted in the top 6 and one drafted in the top 15. He's not getting drafted by anyone who has that level of talent.

Meanwhile LGB T QB1 has done it with nothing but bums at WR

Sidekid Rice has some potential. He's probably a 4th or 5th round pick though.

I saw a big athletic, strong armed with also great pocket awareness and then blazing speed if need be. He was really impressive against some good teams too.

The 15 TDs against Georgia State helped.

I believe he had the worst numbers against top 25 teams, even with those receivers.

He is 23 and doesn’t turn 24 until December. 13 months older than Williams.

I just looked at the individual games stats, not bad. If it doesn’t matter for Williams, why should it matter for Daniel’s.

No, but he did put up a few games’ worth of stats when they murdered Georgia State.

Simms elaborates on the rankings here: https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/chris-simms-unbuttoned

Because of the wide gap in talent around him. Caleb has great numbers against the top 25.

And he is first ever quarterback to do that.

Doesn't really refute my point. It took him 5! college seasons (and 2 blue chip receivers) to finally get on the draft radar.

I think I would still take Caleb over him but I do like him a lot.

But it was your original point, now you are going all Brick and changing the narrative.
