This is the biggest blow to the Fields cult. It was made known to the entire league that Justin Fields was available, and teams are opting instead to sign Tyrod Taylor, Brissett, Sam Darnold, and Mariotta.

30+ NFL GMs have determined that Fields is not a viable, long term QB1, but LTG knows whats up

Yep, I'm not laughing at Fields but I am laughing at the cult. LTG took some time off to huddle with Keyshawn Johnson about how to spin the league wide lack of interest in Fields.

I thought Fields had some value but this is hilarious. It turns out the Bears may have made him look better than he actually is.

Did he drop the pen when he went to sign the contract?

No, he had an actual quarterback throw it to him.

It's absurd at this point. Sam Darnold has never had a better season than Fields and he costs more than double. Winston is a goof who regularly throws as many picks as td and he costs double.

Bears must be sticking to their asking price because these are not superior options in a rational market

Offensive coordinators want a QB who will operate within the framework of their offense--this is a must especially for guys who are just stopgaps like Fields and Darnold.

Fields may produce better stats than others on the market, but he does so by undermining rather than amplifying the vision of the offensive coordinator. So even when he succeeds, he is failing. That's a big reason why nobody wants him.

kind of looks like maybe Fields was never on the market. Maybe they are sold on him being the guy.

I wonder how amplified Dennis Allen thought his vision was by Jameis Winston.

Dennis Allen is not an offensive coach, although his coaching is certainly offensive.

This may be the humbling experience that will allow Fields to accept a role as transitional QB with the Bears. Start Day 1 if it is necessary and any other game after and then be ready in case of injury.

So who's gonna tell Good Dolphin that, yes, Winston is a better QB than Fields.

Guys need to understand there's a difference between throwing the ball far vs being a quarterback. The former doesn't always mean you're good at the latter.

Looks like a good number of these GMs have determined he isn't QB2 either.

Rough day for The Hawk and LTG, then again most of them are.
