If he is able to reproduce his stellar 2023 season, he will make $420k per catch.

It's absurd at this point. Sam Darnold has never had a better season than Fields and he costs more than double. Winston is a goof who regularly throws as many picks as td and he costs double.

Bears must be sticking to their asking price because these are not superior options in a rational market

Offensive coordinators want a QB who will operate within the framework of their offense--this is a must especially for guys who are just stopgaps like Fields and Darnold.

Fields may produce better stats than others on the market, but he does so by undermining rather than amplifying the vision of the offensive coordinator. So even when he succeeds, he is failing. That's a big reason why nobody wants him.
