Lots of people still make their bets based on the vacuum of the team and not the schedule. They have 7 games against under .500, also 5 games with 9-8 teams. It's a weak schedule and gun to my head, I'd go with the over despite what I think are fairly large weaknesses.

I don't think it's a weak schedule. As I said earlier, the Bears may be lucky that they are playing the Titans in Week 1.

Top half of the schedule is about as weak as it gets. Bottom half is fairly tough. I can see them 6-3 out of the box and not be surprised. And then end up 9-8 or 8-9 too.

Pretty confident there's 8 wins there, just need one more.

The line is set to anger and motivate gambling friendly and overly optimistic Bears fans to go the window and bet they'll get 9-10 wins. That makes me think they'll get 8 wins.

I don't hate Poles and he's made some improvements, but we have no idea on Caleb Williams and that roster still needs a lot of work

I believe most of the money is on the under.

What areas of the roster do you think need a lot of improvement? I have questions about center and another edge rusher, but I'm not sure I see an area that needs a lot of improvement unless there are significant injuries.

The money is rolling in on Chicago.
The guy in charge of DraftKings said some time ago "we are going to get a ton of Bears money"
The win total has inched up to 9 in some places.

I don't doubt Bears fans are pounding the over. I could be mistaken, but I thought I saw most of the money coming into the sports books was on the under.

I agree…maybe it just feels the Bears are loaded compared to previous years but combined with an easy schedule, 10+ wins is likely.

Caesar's also up to 9 +105 over. Draft Kings is -165 over 8.5. That's a big bite if most of the money is on the under 8.5.

You said it...both lines still need work.

The arrow is pointing up, I just wouldn't bet on them being more than 8 wins next year.

So many things have to go right to get to 10 wins.
How many division wins...3 maybe if things go well.

The Bears could sweep this division. They were a couple of plays away from sweeping the Lions last year. The Bears improved more than the Lions. Who knows what the Vikings will be. Who knows who the real J. Love is?

I'm not predicting a sweep, but I don't think 3 division wins is the ceiling for this team.

A small inexperienced rookie quarterback and a thin center and guard crew and less than robust running game will make ball possession pretty difficult and that will put a lot of pressure on the defense like it did last year.

I just see that they made a huge mistake in not trading the number one pick. That was a franchise once in a lifetime opportunity and I think that Poles just panicked when he got confused about the worth of CALEB WILLIAMS. Poles now must hope like hell that Williams turns into an immediate Patrick Mahomes. Nothing short of that can or should be acceptable. He gave up a slew of team changing talent for a small quarterback from a college team with no history of developing good let alone great NFL quarterbacks.

Not excuses, Poles, this is all on you.

Nope! If he isn't the best quarterback in the NFL from his first game, it was an AWFUL pick.

The argument for picking a QB from a college with history of great NFL QB's is just stupid. Stop. Which college should we be focusing on to draft their QB each year. Which college has the most hall of fame QB's? Notre Dame? Alabama? Miami? How many hall of famer QB's have they developed? Its pretty much a crap shoot with any kid from any college. There isn't one school that churns them out. If you've got a chance to take what you think or what many are saying could be a hall of fame type QB you take him. That is the only plan that works for sustained success. Get a franchise QB. Justin Fields was not. At best he may have been a serviceable QB if he had great talent around him.

Patrick Mahomes played one game as a rookie.

Was he rated as a first round talent?

Mahomes? Absolutely he was. Did anyone project him to compete for the title of greatest ever? Absolutely not.

As far as Williams goes I think if he plays and it’s obvious he’s a legit QB at the NFL level then it’s a win for the team and the fans. A lot of the pie in the sky stuff of expecting him to throw for 4000+ yards and 30+ TD’s with a QBR hovering around 100 as a 1st year guy or bust is nonsense. Dudes a rookie, and he’s going to look like a rookie at times. But if he shows good progress and flashes his talent consistently it’s all good.

By seasons end I think a lot of you -if not all of you- will be excited about this kid and his future here.

How many division wins...3 maybe if things go well.

Still early but 3 division wins may be a pipe dream

Speaking of over-rated talent, somehow our game changing PUNTER hasn't helped the situation at all has he?

I still think we'll find a way to split with the Packers.. For some reason Detroit always plays close with the Bears so I think theyl'll most likely split with the Bears too.

The Queens look like they're going to steamroll this entire division right now tho. Flores has that defense playing out of their minds and where the fuck did Sam ass Darnold come from lol?

I'm starting to feel the Bears might be more a 7 win type team rather than 9 atm
