Remember two weeks ago when touchdowns mattered? 5 in 2 games.

Caleb Williams is the curator of the league's worst 1st Quarter offense. Which is why his "late Gane heroics" are essentially meaningless.
Caleb hasn't won a game since this thread was started. Which validates the point regarding his being a bumslayer doesn't it?

We could just judge him for a whole game.

Yeah we could. And for the entirety of 4 consecutive games he failed to throw a TD pass and you still had no problem with the way he was playing. So WYC?

Fact is Justin Fields has a .667 winning percentage this season while Caleb is at .333

Before the season started you along with MANY of the Football Gurus here claimed that the Bears would be better with Caleb as the QB. Well that hasn't happened. Until it does it might be best to cool it with all of the trolling McCarver.

The Doctor of Disingenuous strikes again with some more lies. You were wrong on Williams. It's obvious. He's the best Bears rookie QB ever. At worst he will be a league average starter next year.

You claimed that He'd be better than Justin Fields "fairly quickly" then started comping them as rookies only when it was obvious that he wasn't. Fact is you repeatedly claimed that the Bears would be better with Caleb this season than they were last year with Fields and they haven't been. Take the L and keep it pushing

It was always about rookie years. I have the proof.

But Caleb may already be better than Fields right now. Cling to the win-loss record of your benched QB. It's all you have left.

USA is admittedly hate watching. LTG has not admitted it.

Caleb is objectively an above average QB under the new OC. The wildly errant throws are obviously still a huge concern. There's 3 supposedly non-weather games left to judge. One of those games I want to see 30 points put up and a win. Two would shut up some people until next year. Three and a lot of people would just assume get in a time machine and go straight to September 2025.

Nah dude. You repeatedly joined in with all of the people who said that he would make the Bears better this year until he started playing games.

Well Justin Fields is better this year than Caleb. That is indisputable.

Caleb isn't even good enough to get the Bears the lead very often. He can only ever seem to move the ball when the other team is in prevent mode. Which should be a concern for everyone.

At this point of the season the patterns are very clear. Poles knows it which is why he is making all of these desperation moves.

No GM is ever going to admit that they made a drafting mistake while the player they mistakenly drafted is still on the roster..And Poles is no different. But it's clear that he is looking for scapegoats after botching this. That much is fairly clear

If Caleb is so great, then why are the Bears currently 4-8?

Oh yeah Caleb's ONLY victories this season have come against teams with a combined 13-31 record. But hey to call him a "Bumslayer" is considered "disingenuous" around these parts

Justin Fields vs Chiefs stats , week 3 last year . Down 34-0 at half, 41-0 going into 4th quarter. 11-22, 99 yards , 1TD, 1 Int. I guess the Chiefs werent in prevent mode better than half the game. I mean its easy to move the ball against teams that are letting you because theyre up by so many. Anyone can bumslay in those games.

Justin Fields is 9-5 in his last 14 games as a starter. Will Caleb Williams attain such a "lofty status" this season after 14 games? Just Asking A Question

I suggest the judgements should be made moving forward and not looking backward because Shane Waldron is OC Hitler. It's not a big ask.

Caleb Williams 1st Quarter stats through 12 games in his rookie season:

42/67, 62%, 393 yards, 1 TD 0 INT, 83.7 Passer Rating

Justin Fields 1st Quarter stats through 15 games in his second season, including an 8 game losing streak during which LTG proudly proclaimed that Fields isn't a bust and is worth building around:

50/76, 65%, 549 yards, 3 TD 3 INT, 83.7 Passer Rating

I thought they would be better. The coach blew two wins and a likely OT game yesterday.

Again, cling to QB wins all you want. I'll point out that QB wins is one major reason they launched Fields. Terrible record in Chicago.

If Caleb doesn't watch out his record this year will only be 1 game better than Field's record was that year. A year when the Bears were clearly tanking. Well clear to everyone but your dumbass that is!

And by the way buffoon. Over/Under on Caleb reaching Fields TOTAL Touchdown count from that season while you're stat gazing with your dumbass?

I wasn't comparing wins and losses between the two of them, I was comparing their performances in the first quarter of games in seasons where they played a similar number of games. And actually come to think of it Justin's rookie season is probably a better comp, because he played in only 2 fewer games than Caleb has now instead of benefitting from playing in 3 more games than Caleb, so let's look at Justin's 1st quarter numbers from his 10-start rookie season:

29/49, 59%, 353 yards, 0 TD 3 INT, 55.9 Passer Rating.

You want to say that Caleb's performance in the 1st quarter of games somehow negates his performance later in games, which is already batshit insane, so you can pretend that his stats in the 1st quarter are all he is as a player. However you don't want to dismiss Justin Fields as bad because of his similar, and as a rookie, much much worse, performance in that split relative to Caleb Williams. It's almost like you're not being entirely honest and arguing in good faith.
The Doctor Of Style wrote:

Why are you trying to compare TD totals between a rookie QB and a guy who was in his second year in the NFL? But to your question, this team is in such shambles it's entirely possible guys like Allen and Moore clock out and reduce the dynamics of the offense so they have to rely on droppy Rome and Cole Kmet, which would make getting to Justin's 25 TD mark a very tough road. But I think Caleb has shown such rapid progression in his last 3 games that in normal circumstances with a team that didn't just fire the head coach for completely losing the locker room and getting into shouting matches with veterans, he certainly has the ability to rack up 10 TDs in 5 games. He's generated 5 in his last 2 starts.

The three other North teams are far superior to the Bears. None could put the Bears away. A decent coach probably wins two of those three.

These are not close fought games where the Bears go to toe-to-toe with opponents and just come up barely short in the end. The Bears spend anywhere from 45 to 55 minutes looking like the completely inferior team and then in the final minutes ride a series of outrageously lucky breaks and exhausted opponents to a close defeat.

This just isn’t a way to win football games. It’s not like the Bears one boneheaded coaching decision in the final moments away from competing for the NFC North. They have looked like the worse team in every single game they’ve played this year since they got home from London.

They weren’t really lucky against GB or Detroit. I’ll give you Vikings.

Detroit lost its entire defense to injury over the course of the game. Had they stayed healthy the Bears were on the road to shutoutsville.

Which in an ironic twist considering this thread , Pittsburgh played Dallas earlier this year with Dallas having multiple defensive starters injured and out and the great Justin Fields managed to put 17 points up against them and threw for 131 yards despite getting 3 extra possessions via turnovers and was lauded as having done enough to win the game because the Steelers gave up a TD on Dallas final drive .

I was against Justin Fields the instant the Bears traded up to get him. Before they even announced the pick I was lamenting at least three lost seasons wasted trying to teach that bum to play QB.

I was right about him, I’m right about Caleb.

You were wrong on Williams. It's obvious. He's the best Bears rookie QB ever. At worst he will be a league average starter next year.

That’s a bit of a change in tune.

How so?

You proclaimed previously that he would be top 15 and likely top 10. I suppose you could argue that 15th is league average, but the original phrasing and context implies better than that.
