We’re a year removed from the Bears being unable to move the guy for anything better than a day 3 draft pick.
One year later, he’s apparently going to have more value than a GM’s own top 10 pick the year before.
Atlanta is so sold on Penix that they signed a washed up Kirk Cousins to a $100 million dollar contract just so that they wouldn't have to start him at QB. Ok
He should be playing in front of our No. 1 overall pick. What's another 1st Rounder to beat out?
And regardless even it's not Atlanta he will sign to start somewhere. Which is the point. The notion that "he's just a backup" is just well, dumb TBH
He literally is just a backup.
Who has been a starter in over 80% of his available game as a pro. Who is own OC clearly stated "is a starter".
Again I cannot take seriously the opinion of guys that have been incorrect about EVERYTHING Bears related since I began REALLY paying attention to this section about a year ago.
You don’t
have to simp for an AFC backup QB. I appreciate cults are by definition difficult to break free from, but the earlier you move on the better.
At this rate you’ll be Al Bundy by proxy, telling anybody who’ll listen how great Justin Fields would have been if teams were willing to start him and you only counted games his team won.
I know it is a problem for MANY whenever they make complete asses of themselves with their inane sports thoughts around here. But don't make that my fight.
The Bears sucked this year as a result of making the decision that YOU wanted them to make. Instead of making a playoff push they ended up making another top 10 draft pick push. Mostly because they listened to dudes like you who clamored for them to "draft the next Patrick Mahomes". Instead of admitting the lunacy of this position, you have chosen to double and triple down on this rather foolish notion.
Again not my fight. If the Bears had just simply did what MANY Chicago Bear fans such as myself wanted them to do and trade the pick, we'd have been in much better shape moving forward. Instead they held fast and took the advice of dudes like you who believed the hype surrounding "Da Generational One" instead and now are paying the price for it.
Instead of talking about the playoffs, we're back to once again discussing who the next coach, GM, and high draft pick will be. Which seemingly has been the talk in 85-90% of the years since Ditka left. Hooray!
