Wouldn't it be 'more people like football'? Or are you seriously wondering because you're an idiot

"more people like either football or gambling"

Maybe one day it will be legal to bet on basketball.

Basketball is very popular in March. I'll try and figure out the reason.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect many more people bet on football or play fantasy football than do the same for the NBA.

Because football is more interesting.

College basketball is also much more entertaining than professional basketball.

So "entertaining" that you'd much rather discuss hockey as opposed to holding a discussion about it and it's "entertaining " aspects

MLB and NBA would be well advised to shorten their calendar season and play less games. That's their biggest problem.

The NFL should be real careful. Their product is eminently consumable because they play less games and less game days. Constantly expanding into new days is bad for their product.

The NBA will never shorten its schedule because of the vast amount of money that it makes at the gate. Despite all the gibberish about ratings, the games still sellout at a very high ticket price.

The NBA's biggest issues pertain to what it puts out on the floor. Or in a lot of cases what it doesn't put out on the floor. You cannot continue to put a product on the floor year after year where the best players aren't playing.from game to game. People pay to see the best players compete and in most instances that rarely happens.

There are certain guys in the NBA whom you know will be sitting out 25-30 games before the start of each and every season. Somehow or someway they are going to find a way not to suit up. It gets tiresome trying to keep up with it and I believe many have chosen to stop caring and stop watching as a result.

Bought this up last month and had the Nardster and a few of his odd friends start chirping, not surprising as many posters tend to run six months to a year behind in their understanding of things.

Already bored with the discussion as the NBA is not changing the way it officiates games any time soon.

The baseball decline is more interesting as they cannot get local coverage in smaller markets, cannot imaging that being a good thing long term.

Don't worry, the Claw will continue to provide tops of discussion for lunch table at Shady Acres until he gets bored and moves on to something else.

Always delightful when you check in. Kinda surprised you didn't bitch about the lane being expanded in 1964.

Joe Rulechange is getting kind of sick of calling your grunting drooling sweaty wrestling lineman neanderthal ass about decades old rules.

I wonder how many people are watching on streaming compared to watching on actual tv?

Caught a few minutes of the Sixers/Suns tilt last night on NBA TV.

The Philly crowd booed the Sixers off the court, even the hometown broadcast team was ripping them for bricking up 3's, making fun of a guy for passing up a free layup and instead dribbling back for a 3, it was a brutal game, like a Sunday over 40 rec league game.

Then we had Barkley ripping Anthony Edwards for shooting too many 3's, he brought up how Edwards not driving to the rim and drawing fouls changes the game because you are not in the bonus and you do not get players in foul trouble, along with the obvious fact that he would make a significantly greater number of those shots or get to the free throw line.

The NBA sees what is wrong, but not sure how you change things, everyone gets paid a ton of money and you do not get beaten up driving to the basket.
