Caught a bit of them talking with Grote about the post season presser, seemed odd the Bernstein was off in his own little world with what looked to be Murphy's yellow pad full of questions while the new dude and the old CSN Chicago lady were actually signaling each other to make sure they gave each other time to ask questions. They also let Grote ramble and ramble and ramble where he said absolutely nothing, almost like he had an hour glass and was just trying to fill his time, get that feeling from most of the hosts on WSCR.
The video stream shows an odd dynamic on the show, really seems like it is Bernstein still clinging to his dated SJW type show with people actually trying to do sports talk radio.
Quite revealing.
Leila does not like when she's interrupted and, to be fair, it has happened on a somewhat regular basis. She's been a bit irritated on the air about it and now she has all of her co-hosts giving her the floor at times. That could be why she now also has segments dedicated to her "notes" (I still find it odd that all of them take notes during a Bears game when it's not that difficult to remember rather obvious takes) or her "receipts".
Bernstein has been busy all week defending the local media, talking about how they made Poles/Warren, etc. look uncomfortable with their tough questions and follow-ups. I thought the media did fine, they are asking most of the questions you would have expected so not sure I see Bernstein's hard hitting, edgy journalism that he pretends to be part of.
Bernstein has now gone on multiple shows attacking Gruden, pretending the Patriots are releasing minority names to show they are done with the Rooney Rule so they can then hire Vrabel, accusing teams of racisim (while being factually wrong)....You really can't get him out of this at this point. He's been allowed to offer crazy, far left commentary, his co-hosts endorse it, and he's been broken, as has pretty much everyone at that station, by Trump.
When I hear Bernstein, Leila, Holmes talking about the Bears in their smug, know everything takes, why don't the Bears just hire them since they know how to properly hire a coach and run the organization? To me, the smugnuss just drips from most of the hosts.
I generally like Biggs/Wiederer, and Grote may be a nice guy, but he's nowhwere close to being even an averge reporter. None of them have any insights into what the Bears are likely to do or why. They are not any more knowledgable than a smart Bears fan, but they can speak so they have that, but if you're looking for any super inside commentary, you're not going to get that, but this show pretends that reporters are having "informed" conversations and are dropping "between the lines" commentary every time they talk.
