Yeah, he was good.

The stuff with Stingray reviving Cobra Kai also had me laughing.

I continue to be impressed that the show is more than decent after all these seasons. I figured the nostalgia would get old after the first few seasons, then the writing would fall off, and it would just stumble to the finish line or get cancelled along the way.

I have hate watched every season since the Season 2 finale....just awful.

The only positive is that it's a low-stress, mindless watch that goes by fairly quick.

finished part 1. i like how they set up the tournament for the final half (kenny deserves some revenge), and they will push the rivalries one more time.

should be fun, and the show definitely can end in a satisfying way with everything coming together here. i really hope the show sticks the landing, it's been a fun ride. very refreshing from the start.

This season is 15 episodes that will be released in 3 5-episode installments.

hm, i hope it's not too padded out like so many shows do. 5 episodes in, it felt like 6-10 would be wrapping things up. i'm guessing then that the tourney will span 2 episodes or so.

The plot of this entire show...

We're mortal enemies! Now we're friends! Now we're mortal enemies at different dojos! Now we're mortal enemies at the same dojo! Some kid breaks his neck! Now we're friends again! Now Mr. Myagi is bad! Now Mr. Myagi is good again! Now we're enemies! Now we're friends!

speaking of padding out...wow, this was really just the tournament through the 5 episodes. some fun moments but i think the rubber band already snapped.

i already knew the "SHOCKING" thing thanks to this stupid google algorithm that within 3 headlines you'll see spoilers almost simultaneously when the episodes dropped. i think they had to do it this way to scrape the last 5 episodes together for next year. and then there's apparently a movie planned afterward?

this is a shame...it didn't have to be this bloated.

last 5 episodes dropped.

through 3 of the 5, it's making that 2nd 5 episodes look worse and guilty of padding just to get to these.

the 3rd episode has a lot of great emotional moments, especially toward the end--but it also contains that...shit...that just about everyone is doing with past stuff. i won't give it away but it was groan inducing, and awkward.

other than that, it's been much better than the "middle episodes". more call backs, more snippiness, and more terry silver.

happy valentine's weekend.

The nice thing about this series is there are typically enough breaks between fights to allow you to remember this is a show about the interpersonal relationships at a children’s karate dojo in LA.

Aren’t they still technically high schoolers in the show? Aside from Johnny’s effeminate street rat of a kid?

in the "stranger things" universe you can still be in high school into your 30's. they now belong to the "90210" continuum.

finished strong.

the series itself began as this hilarious idea to give johnny lawrence the chance to be miyagi and take on a "karate kid" of his own in miguel. the parallels were obvious, but charming and wholesome. then, the show expanded into full on fluffy charmin level fan service. and it was excellent. they did everything right.

then, it began spiraling into a parody-of-itself and telenovela, with fighting.

the ride was fun, entertaining, fulfilling.

but that goddamn 6-10 episodes of season 6. barcelona is a beautiful city, but a brutal setting for the most boring, bloated, and useless arc of the show.

it was saved by the final 5 episodes (except for that one...thing) and the finale was great (just don't wonder about anthony larusso). it kind of went back to basics, and came back to the place it started. it was worth the watch.

i'd give both season 6 and the entire season the same rating:

:D :D :D out of :D :D :D :D

it's no masterpiece, but probably could've been the greatest thing ever if it had just done maybe 5 seasons tops.

the solutions of giving this "back to" cobra kai were well done.

and, william zabka is gonna clean up in next year's emmys and golden globes. that will be the ultimate revenge on the whole franchise. the dullard villain fratboy asshole is gonna win the whole damn thing.

kinda makes sense in this climate.

Finished it up tonight. Really enjoyed it. It definitely got out there for awhile, but found its way back to a really nice ending.

My family had the most recent season on....I don't get it. This show is complete rubbish. It's not even fun-bad.
