Jacksonville will also be coming off a short week as they play a Monday nighter for the ages against Houston next week.

What about Houston's 4-7 record makes you like them? I'll go out on a limb and say Andre Johnson will be injured again by week 17.

I still see this team winning 4 of 5 with the only loss to GB.

Granted they beat the Rams, but WHO HASN'T? And don't give me the Cowboys, as they were playing with their backup QB and thought they could show up and win.

The victory was nice, as the Bears haven't looked good against the Packers and Titans.

I thought they Bears would be 5-11 or 6-10 depending upon injuries, as that can change anything. After the victory in Week One, I moved that prediction to 6-10 or 7-9.

I think they'll be fortunate to be .500 this year. Given the number of star players from the opposition that have missed the game against the Bears - I don't think that's acceptable because of the money paid to these defensive stiffs - despite my thoughts coming into the season.

I'd rather see them eat some humble pie and make wholesale changes to the coaching staff (the D-Line Coach, D-Coordinator and WR Coach should be fired immediately), get rid of some of these overpaid stiffs on defense and offense (that won't kill their cap) vs. see them go 9-7, sneak into the playoffs and then get their doors blown off in Round One.

So, your prediction was wrong, they are better than you thought, and you're still unhappy?

I'm pleasantly surprised by the O-line, Matt Forte and Kyle Orton.

I loathe Brad Maynard's existance.

The defense sucks in a major way.

I'm not happy whatsoever. I want a Super Bowl contender. This team is not a Super Bowl, nor NFC Championship Game contender.

I have more enjoyment watching the Cardinals and Falcons than these overpaid unhappy players on defense.

You also don't trust Jerry Angelo to make a high pick, and if they were bad (not in the playoff race), you'd still have the same list of issues.

Enjoy. Hope they make the playoffs.

Do you know something we don't, dolphin? Is Drew Brees not going to be playing when the Saints come here, or will the Bears D suddenly be able to stop the pass that night?

Either way, I hope you are right. But I'd take that bet. I see the Bears losing at least 2 more games, and maybe even 4 more.

Quite frankly, I was kinda bored by yesterday's game between the Bears & Rams. While the Bears definitely needed this win vs. a rotten, inept Rams' team, this team still has issues putting pressure on the opposing QB, and I'm definitely worried that "Minnesota" Adrian may have another big night on the "Al & John Show", also known as "NBC's Sunday Night Football" up in that glorified poolroom up in Minneapolis & that the Bears could get smoked again within their own division...

for whatever reason, drew brees struggles against the cover-2 defense. remember after the bears owned him in the NFC Championship Game, he then spit the git coming out of the gate in '07 against Indy and also Tampa Bay. tampa also kicked the crap out of him later in '07.

so I like the bears chances against a dome team in chicago

Remaining schedules for Bears, Vikes and Packers.

Chicago Bears

Bears @ Vikings
Bears vs Jags
Bears vs Saints
Bears vs Packers
Bears @ Texans

Green Bay Packers

Packers @ Saints
Packers vs Panthers
Packers vs Texans
Packers @ Jags
Packers @ Bears
Packers vs Lions

Minnesota Vikings

Vikings vs Bears
Vikings @ Lions
Vikings @ Cardinals
Vikings vs Falcons
Vikings vs Giants

Vikes have the toughest road. Their last 3 games are a bitch. Bears and Packers have a similar road. Packers could lose games to the Saints and Panthers. Very possible.

I'm guessing he's basing that off of the Saints last two trips to Soldier Field. And I believe Dolphin may be right.

I hope he is. But I just don't see the Bears going 4-1 to end this season.

Hey Beardown - why no schedule for the Lions?

They're trying to achieve something to: 0-16

Here's how things stack against them:

Tennessee
Minnesota
@ Indy
New Orleans
@ Green Bay

Come on Lions... you can do it!!!

The lions will probably end up beating the packers to send the bears to the playoffs....

bear in mind (ho ho) that the Saints pass defense is awful too. I picture this being an even shootout, and yes the Bears do give Brees trouble historically.

That's an understatement. Brees has NEVER beaten the Bears. 0-3 if I'm not mistaken. I was at Soldier Field when he got benched for Doug Flutie and he almost led the Bolts to a come from behind victory.

The Bears have always been "OK". Considering that they were supposed to be bad, OK is just fine by me if it's not a permanent position. They've got a pretty damn good chance of hosting a playoff game this year. No one expected that, so just enjoy it.

If one and out makes you happy, keep it.

They really have to beat the Packers to have a legit shot at the playoffs. Two losses to Green Bay kills them, as they won't get the wild card imho.

Here's how things stack up today:

http://www.nfl.com/standings?category=conf

They'd be hosting the Panthers. If the Packers win tonight, I believe the Bears would be on the outside looking in. You can see how shitty 6-5 is for the wild card - as four teams have better records that don't lead their division (Carolina, Washington, Dallas and Atlanta) - and Carolina and Atlanta have beaten the Bears already.

One and out every year wouldn't make me happy. One and out in a year that many people predicted 6-10 or worse (some people much worse, like 1st pick in the draft worse) is alright.

HUGE loss for the Packers tonight.

The Saints are a different team on the road - and in the cold. I still say the Bears can handily beat them.

Think about this.

Packers host Carolina next week. That could be a loss. If that happens and the Bears beat the Vikings the Bears will have a 2 game lead over both teams. Literally 2 over the Pack. It will be the same as a 2 game lead over the Vikes cuz we'll have beat them twice. We'll have the tie-breaker over them.

It's amazing how things can change in this NFL. It was horror after the Packers loss. Now, one week later, we're up on them by a game.

Then again, Packers could beat Carolina and the Vikes could beat the Bears. Then it's back to "the Bears fuckin' suck".

The Bears aren't a great team. That's already a fact. But they sure as hell can win this division.

I'll say this: I like the fact that Carolina is playing the Packers a week after a bad loss to the Falcons. They're pissed and they'll play the Packers well.

In conclusion, are we all in agreement that I am once again correct?

One and done Grid? Are those big bad Panthers or Redskins are giving you nightmares during the week before a first round home playoff game? Then, you have those impossible potential matchups against the Cardinals or Bucs.

There is one team in the NFC that I don't give the Bears any chance against and that is the Giants. Every other game is in play.

The Bears have already lost to the Panthers, and it would not surprise me if the Redskins came into Soldier Field and beat them. Dallas is also not out of it yet (which sucks), but Romo or Warner would absolutely torch the Bears secondary regardless of where they played.

I have no idea what we will get from this team. A one-and-done playoffs would not surprise me, nor would this team getting to the NFC title game and losing at the Meadowlands.

The Bears gave the Panthers that game and Delhomme has a disturbing trend of horrible road games.

The Cardinals and Cowboys are like the Saints. They may get, but they will also give. Cowboys would worry me more than the Cardinals.

I'm okay with the win vs. the Al Trautwig-looking Jim Haslett and the St. Louis Rams Sunday, but I'm not okay with the fact the Bears got their clocks cleaned in Green Bay the week before, and that the Packers got hammered last night in New Orleans!!! :x :x :x The Bears' lack of pressure & pass rush on opposing QBs really sucks! I don't want to see a replay of the shootout the last time these two teams played at Soldier Field come this Sunday night in the Metrodome on the "Al & John Show", also known as "NBC's Sunday Night Football"!

Ooooh boy... I guess that wasn't Delhomme playing catch with Steve Smith to the tune of almost 200 yards against the Bears, IN BEAR WEATHER, in the 2006 playoffs then. But they didn't beat us, the Bears (oops) I mean RON RIVERA's shitty defense gave that game away.

This current Steve Smith is no where close to that Jan. 2006 Steve Smith.

The fuck you talkin bout...because I'm talking about game 2 of this year. You know, that game the Bears were leading by 10 in the 4th quarter. I am also referencing 2 out of the last 3 Delhomme games in which he has thrown for under 100 yards.

A game which the aforementioned Panther WR, who by all means is not what he was in '06 but is still pretty damn good, was not playing in.

Not mentioned by me.

Delhomme lit up the Raiders with Smith for 98 yards on a perfect afternoon.

A little wind...a little cold???

How about a little...double cover Steve Smith all day and jam him at the line with an outside linebacker like Seattle did the very next week on their way to the Super Bowl.

Let's face it, the Bears have one MAJOR flaw with their defense dating all the way back to that game and probably even before that. They FLAT OUT REFUSE to adjust to what the opposing offense is pounding down their throats. Let me give three examples.

1. The Steve Smith playoff game. Never tried to eliminate him from the offense.
2. Super Bowl - a friggin' rookie running back (Joseph Addai) sets a reception record and they never bother to cover him out of the backfield.
3. Adrian Peterson's 224 yards - Not ONCE did they attempt to stack the box and force Tavaris Jackson to beat them through the air
