This is the essence of the Leila Rahimi experience: this constant low hum of grievance and hurt feelings over inconsequential nonsense, but without any sort of clever or charming neuroticism. I think the perfect example is when she was like "I don't want you to say my name before a day of the week BECAUSE I SAID I DON'T WANT TO." "People are welcoming me back when technically I didn't really leave [the station announced that I have come back]" is another.

I'm sure she has enough real grievances, like people asking about her dating life. Why must she also include all this (accurately described) inconsequential nonsense, I dunno

Leery: You can't.
Spiegel: --with Leila Rahimi and Marshall Harris! How's it going, lady and gentleman?
Leila: Not great, actually.
Spiegel: Oh, no, what's the matter?
Leila: Well, before the show, I decided I was hungry, so I should get breakfast. That's usually what I do when I'm hungry.
Leery: Leila, I'm the same way.
Leila: So I ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich, right? And the guy at the counter handed it to me...and said "enjoy your sandwich."
Spiegel: ...and?
Leila: I DON'T NEED HIS PERMISSION TO ENJOY A SANDWICH.
Marshall: Well I'm not sure he was giving permission.
Leila: WHY DID HE TELL ME TO ENJOY THE FOOD I ORDERED?
Marshall: Well you know it's like when you're with a girl, right? And she says "how do I look?" before you go out and you say "you look nice" because it's just what you do. So I think it's kind of like that.
Leila: IT'S NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL. OH, THANKS, I WASN'T GOING TO ENJOY THIS FOOD I BOUGHT UNTIL YOU TOLD ME TO BUT NOW I WILL. THANKS A LOT.
Marshall: Well, did you express these concerns?
Leila: no I froze up
Spiegel: Marshall, that's gonna be the title of my new self-help book, Women Are Like Bagels.
Leery: You should reely, reely reconsider that title.
Spiegel: Well, Warren Zevon always said, enjoy every sandwich.

On Monday's show, Leila asked if the Bears can afford ($$) to bring in Dobbins / Chubb.

Maybe not a big deal that she doesn't understand the NFL salary cap, the cost of free agent RB's in April (or in general) or that the Bears can add one of these guys if they wanted to, but she gives me the impression that she reads articles, tries to stay informed, but has no depth behind most topics and then falls back on a lot of words.

Saying that, she's probably more informed than Marshall.

“We’re committed to having top-tier hosts who are respected by local teams and can connect with our listeners through thoughtful and engaging opinions,” Mitch Rosen, Audacy Chicago’s vice president of sports programming, said in a release. “Leila is one of the hardest-working teammates at The Score and her knowledge of Chicago sports has made her a beloved voice among the city’s fans.”

“We have changed. The Score listener has not, and that’s really who this is about today,” Rahimi said on the air Monday morning. “It’s about those who listen to The Score no matter what. We appreciate you. We thank you.

“And to me, that’s been the consistent. It’s that I know they’re there. And I want to say thanks to everybody who has been there the whole time because that is what makes us go.”

The idea that local teams "respect" the hosts is ridiculous and completely antithetical to a good station even if it were true. The teams should be afraid of the hosts and their power to shape public opinion, not "respect" goobers like Spiegel lapping up every Cubs move or Larry refusing to go to Sox games for free and giving away his collection of complimentary Sox hats courtesy of the White Sox marketing department in a deluded protest about how important Laurence Holmes White Sox fandom is to everyone.

I had an errand to run so listened in the car for almost an hour. They were just finishing a high five or something - so pick six at noon? Draft talk ensued in which she said Ben's vision twice. On the third time said they weren't stealing the afternoon's bit... hmmm. Then jocularity was about to ensue as they "sussed" who stole food from the break room or something. Couldn't take any more of it.

Those two would be a perfect pairing for the Afternoon Lunch Zany Zoo Crew on WTOP Topeka's FM home for all the hits...

Mid days and afternoons are really unlistenable - which is too bad. The olden times of yore were great radio and I started listening again when Danny came with Mac and then Spiegs. Bernsie always did enough to where I'd turn on some mid days too. The only appointment score I have any more is when Stevie Sunshine is on a Saturday morning. He is still filled with enough prep and vitriol to be interesting. Even my wife doesn't mind it on.

I imagine the channel is about to find out that 'No matter what' was an optimistic hope. Boring and annoying is a tough pairing to overcome.

At least Larry did actually grow up here. The WSCR lineup is now fully 50% out-of-town carpetbaggers.

Finally had a listen today at work. Sounds way too crowded. Everyone talking and sometimes I am not sure whether it is Marshall or the guest.

She was back at it today, saying the Bears may not have the money to sign a RB in free agency.

Completely inaccurate and the fact that she's repeating this while trying to sound like an expert on the RB position makes sound ...not very intelligent.

I don't understand. Can't they have a Bears writer join the show and explain it to her?
